A reminder that NL rates Bag of Preparation as being not very good but will never give up Ring of the Snake at the start of a run despite them being the same exact item.
In his defense there are so many horrible boss relics that it's not necessarily about keeping snake ring so much as it is about not getting runic dome or something else equally terrible
You aren't considering the fact that drawing 7 cards at the beginning is good, and removing that would be bad. He doesn't take it because he doesn't want to draw 9 cards at the beginning of each fight. There is a difference.
Best part is when he picked up the bullet time, he was talking about forcing a combo deck, while passing on Concentrate which is pretty much the best enabler to infinite turn combo decks.
71 episodes in and he still uses Apotheosis like an upgraded armaments.. Also skips snecko skull when he had 2 bouncing flasks and buys potions instead. What is this man doing I can't handle it..
Apotheosis upgrades all your cards in your deck, not just in your hand. That means it he shouldn't be playing it before bullet time. This caused him to have some misplays.
I wanted to punch the egg when he said agnostically a good card in a previous episide, which must be the most psuedointellectual sentence ever uttered in the history of mankind. "there is no way to actually know that this is a good card, which makes it a good card" Use the word properly and say "an agnostic play" or don't use it at all... Egg is the Brian Griffin of RU-vid.
Okay really Egg. Bullet Time then Apotheosis, 3 energy. Apotheosis then Bullet Time, 4 energy. Please. You said a few episodes ago you have over 70 hours in the game, just... please learn basic energy management.
Necronomicurse is actually great in the right deck because it comes back if you exhaust it. One of my favoiret uses for it is Blue Candle + Rupture. Basically you can just play Necronomicurse over and over again and get as much strenght as you want with Rupture until you decide to do something else (ideally play Heavy Blade for 300 damage)
Good run honestly, the pyramid with bullet time seems to have a different use to the one you were doing. Something like saving your cards until you have a great hand to bullet time
Yep exactly. It’s a god tier combo but he didn’t think about it at all. He didn’t even consider that he could save bullet time in hand and then play big turns.
Card draw isn't just for playing cards on that turn though. There might be a card that you just played that you want to see again, so you'll need to cycle the whole deck. For example, in a limit break build. Being able to flip through your deck to reshuffle can be very useful.
He actually under-values Pommel Strike and Quick Slash. They're both extremely good because they don't bloat your deck as much as other cards. What I mean by this is that they can cycle you through the deck by atleast one card, nullifying their own added weight. So an 11 card deck with that 11th card being a quick slash is sort-of a 10 card deck. Cycling back to his bullet time as much as possible should have been his priority.
Calculated gamble and Prepared are the only 2 bad draw mechanic cards Silent gets. All the others either cycle with benefit, or add cards. Those are all are worth taking. Also he should stop passing on the BLOODY POWER CARDS! I've said it a billion times now: powers dont slow a deck EVER are ALWAYS good, and should ALWAYS be priority picked. EXPECIALLY in a shop over a crap common relic that costs 2x as much.
For the slime boss fight, its usually better to take the initial big hit if it means you can get him to split at a lower life total. Even though you avoid the damage initially, you'll probably end up taking the same amount with the super high hp slimes and their added debuffs
There is no escaping this curse... especially with runic pyramid lol. I wonder if it has special synergies with blue candle, or turning it into curse poop. Hmm.
why would you not play bullet time first, making all cards cost 0 and then play apotheosis? Cost 3 energy instead of 4 and you can still play all cards.
Hey NL, a thin deck is probably around 8-12 cards... not 30+, just saying. Also you never manage to rid your deck of garbage like basic blocks and strikes.. so maybe do that more.
Hey NL, just letting you know that if you get a bullet time that is barely worth it or its in your first hand, it can be good to wait a turn to use it for extra value, depending on the circumstance
HE DOESNT TAKE NIGHTMARE IN A RUNIC PYRAMID BULLET TIME DECK! T H I S E G G I S G O N N A G I V E M E B R A I N D A M A G E For real though. Bullet time runic pyramid is basically a run on a silver platter if you focus on card draw and high cost cards.
So annoying how he keeps using potions before he needs to... He doesn't understand that he can always drink them when he needs them? There have no Cooldown or restrictions... Just don't use them until you need to do so.
he had bullet time...and he ignored nightmare...the inner machinations of his mind are an enigma (milk spills over) Let me explain: While it is true that the combo requires both bullet time and nightmare, this was not an issue because of runic pyramid. Step 1: get both bullet time and nightmare in your hand along with some card you want to play a lot of (for example bouncing flask) Step 2: play bullet time making all cards cost 0 including nightmare Step 3: play nightmare choosing bouncing flask Step 4: play 3 0 cost bouncing flasks next turn Step 5: profit from 27-36 poison applied (depends on if BF was upgraded) Step 6: never question the consequences
Don't forget he also skipped Wraith form (as always) with bullet time... When his deck is made of 3/4 skill cards. Beacause we all know it would be terrible with nightmare / bullet time / runic pyramid on turn 2 making all his poisons, blocks and card draw deal 15 free damage when played. Thats absolutely a terrible amount of damage not worth taking the cards for.
