Hes like almost sixty years old and has sung for over thirty years... you can forgive him if his vocal chords can't reach a high octave without cracking a bit. If he was a metalcore vocalist, his voice would be shot. Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Of Mice & Men. All these younger bands had to change their style because they screwed their vocal chords and they were in their twenties.

People talk a lot of shit about Kerry as a player and I don't understand it. He's a fucking machine. I've been dissecting his rhythm parts since '88 and I still haven't mastered them -- let alone his nutty leads which I haven't even touched in all these years. There's really only one guy among his peers who I respect more and that's Hetfield. Yes Jeff wrote better stuff but honestly King has had the better picking hand for most of Slayer's career.

I like some Slayer and I grew up listening to them but I was so happy when nu metal arrived because they started singing about real-life issues and not about fantasy nonsense like demons, angels and witches.
