+Josh Pelton Not annoyed...he just wasn't a talker with the band interviews...mostly Kerry and Tom.....sometimes Jeff...rarely Dave....People read too much into things lol
+ryan49er1 did he mellow with age? he seemed the most talkative out of slayer in their early interviews. strangely, kerry seemed the least talkative in those.
I am like Dave here too. I dont think I dis like people, I just have a hard time being social. I feel sorry for Dave here. He looks depressed yet pissed off at the same time.
He's just pissed because he only got regular salary on that tour because he quit the band like 4 times already and Kerry had enough of it. Read the book it's good.
@@jesusfernandodrylander1201 From who, pussy ass 5 foot Kerry King?! HAHAHAHAAAA!! You're an idiot if you think Lombardo sucks. Stay stupid and ignorant you moron!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love Lombardo, he just doesn't like the image Slayer has embraced. He simply wants to play drums and make music, not interview and answer questions he's been asked for 30 years.
In Germany, we have a saying. It goes like this: You look at your empty beerbottle and say "Is leer", which means "It's empty" but kinda sounds like "Slayer". Then, everyone shouts "SLAYER!!" and you order the next round.
It's crazy how quickly things change. Jeff saying how loyal their fans are, compared to how people talk about Slayer now. And plus, they actually all look like friends here. And now, not so much.
MrJv123jv i see your point man. I think a lot of the shit talking coming from fans now is their way of going through the grieving process for Jeff. That and metal fans are a lot more sheep like than they will ever admit. People see other fans talking shit about the band and they jump on the band wagon.
@@joshpelton3708 you said it man, all true. I do not like Slayer (appart from some sounds and rythms than they can create) and some people I know, they spent years telling me off, calling me a sissy for listening to Megadeth, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag or Ramones, they basically ended their sentences yelling SLAAAAAAAAAYYEEEEEEER, like fucking sheeps, without proving none of their reasons to dislike my preferences. Later in time, the Alpha Male of the gang decided than Slayer was not the same, so for the rest, not very cool anymore. I suddenly stopped listening that Slaaaaayeeeerr from them and, at certain point I miss it, as made my days thinking how fucking driven-sheeps were. LoL.
@@jayfarina7263 they might've been too stupid to conceptualize this but they probably fucking loved slayer for the absolutely brutal riffs and licks that the guitar master Jeff hanneman was so legendary for. Kerry King might be a dbag but combine his rhythm guitar with Jeff's leads and solos and it was a unique fast technical soundscape. And Dave Lombardo.. One of the best metal drummers there ever was, SLLAAAAAYYEEEERRR would not have been what it was if not for his incredible stamina on the kit. The antichrist is a song I recommend if you haven't heard it, alot less brutal and closer to a Megadeth sound with the guitars and drums
Slept on? Everyone knows what a great drummer Dave is. After all slayer kept trying to get him back in the band despite quitting, leaving the band, complaining,
Was so happy I got to see them on the World painted blood tour. It was my first Metal show ever. I saw them Twice with the original line up and twice with the final line up. Hail SLAYER! Long live Hanneman!
I met him in a bar in Liverpool UK back on seasons in the abyss tour. He was one of the nicest guys you could meet, had plenty of time for us and sat chatting and drinking beers on that Saturday afternoon. we went to a show a few nights after and he spotted us in the crowd and shouted hi to us! Top bloke top band, fucking legends! :)
I ain't a big fan of their music, but the fact that one of the best Heavy Metal bands in the world can be this nice and this laidback with their fans and all, that's what makes them so cool.
Slayer's one of those things I've always counted on to be there and be good. People, friends, bands, TV shows, franchises, artists, comics, whatever, most of them suck after a while, but Slayer have always fucking delivered and I'm not even one of those unconditional fans that sticks with a band even after they suck either, I mean it. SLAYER!
is a sad scene, dave should be an important member of slayer beacuse he is a one of the founders of the band and one of the musicians who made this band. And instead? Is there in silent as if it were an external member, indeed now is coming out of slayer.....Shame for Kerry King
He was sick at the time and dont quote me on this but I believe it was he couldn't talk cause he was losing his voice or something like that again thats what I heard and yes it was kinda sad for Dave not talking for being one of the founding members of slayer but hey he was sick at the time and had a cough and tissue in his hand
TheThrashMaster Dave recently split from slayer because of some financial bullshit where the rest of the band made considerably more than him because he was the drummer. i think around the time this was being recorded he was realizing what they were doing to him.
God bless Slayer all of them and Jeff Hanneman rest in peace are true legends and metals gods for us in life always always remembered never forgotten 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm an older generation fan and both my kids in their 20's are fans as well, My son was influenced on drums by Dave Lombardo, He plays guitar and drums both phenomenal, We jam together and it's always starting with Raining Blood! I fucking love this band!
If you have ever been in a slayer pit, you love this band, Period. You can spot us by a certain look in our eyes, a formal greeting of a long and drawn out "SLAAAAAAAAAAYOOOOOOOOOOOOOHR!" is appropriate in ANY setting where two Slayer fans meet.
Dave and the band had ongoing issues for a very long time.i believe it started with reign in blood.i saw them a second time with out Dave the following year.its ashame, because I'm a drummer and I always felt Dave was the best thrash drummer out there.
I wish Dave wouldve said something I always like to hear what he has to say and it bother me to see him so irritated I wonder what was up with him that day
I never saw them as “controversial”, it was all about the fun and how did they do that. Being a drummer I always look to Dave for what he did for that whole music scene. He put a groove that Paul couldn’t pull off. John could🤷🏻♂️
+Guitarzan1919 That might be a tiny bit correct but is not the whole story. Dave actually had the contracts looked over by lawyers and accountants and discovered that none of the band members were receiving much of the tour profits and was trying to get the band to change their touring logistics so that all the members of Slayer could get more money, it wasn't just for himself. 90% of the money that was coming in on tour went back out to pay expenses. Too bad they didn't want to hear it. Dave was killer on the drums when I saw them in 09.
Shut up. They all live incredibly well. It was DAVE that wanted more money, he was being paid as an employee, cuz guess what?? HE LEFT THE BAND FOR 15 YEARS.
I know that Dave admits he asked for more money a week before a tour and that they didn't have any money budgeted to give him. He didn't want to play unless he got more, he's a self proclaimed drummer for hire, and so Slayer got a drummer that would play for the money that was agreed upon. It's happened before.
@@robertwalker3357 The cool thing about YT is that anyone can say their opinion even if they don't have a sense of reality. Paul's bass drum is deadly beyond compare to the weak Dave.
All i can see , is that , Dave Lombardo looks like a stranger .. during the interview. he doesn't say anything ... well , he's the best drummer anyway ... a psycho drummer as i am .. thanks for the vid ..
It was a band decision to let Dave go, which has happened before. Dave has described himself as a drummer for hire, and a week before a tour he demanded more money that they didn't have and he was let go.
Josh Pelton not saying devourment is better then slayer if that's what your proposing, just saying that they may have outdone slayer on twisted subjects.
yea dave is the member of slayer who knows his talent, but never shows it off like a big shot!...jeff and dave are my fav members of slayer, kerry is cool too, he signed my slayer t-shirt at the 09 mayhem festival...so hats off to him.
