I saw this tour in 1986 at Norman's Place in Aurora, Colo. We got to meet Slayer at a record store prior to the show after spending all night freezing our asses off in the cab of my buddy's truck so we would could be at the front of the line when the doors opened. I dropped acid prior to the gig and when they opened the doors everyone bum rushed the stage - I subsequently ended up bleeding due to someone ripping the handle off the door, leaving some exposed metal sticking out. We were lucky enough to be front row and center for the show, but it was difficult to stay put, as people were trying to crowd their way in between us youngsters - I was only 16! I held my ground, but was being crushed against the barriers the whole time, not being able to move, all the while tripping my balls off on LSD only five feet away from Slayer rocking all the new stuff from Reign in Blood. I'll never that night or "Jesus Saves" pummeling my eardrums.
I was born in 09/17/1986.............maybe while I was giving my first breathe they were at studio giving birth to one of most amazing metal album!!! I'll be reborn!!!!! lol
man whenever I think new bands are getting heavy and good and that maybe the 'old-school' isn't keeping up, I just listen to slayer for 5 seconds and I get my mind right! 5:37 JESUS SAVES!
Dave Lombardo fucking thrashing hard!!!! And props to Araya for double duty of vocals/bass when performing these thrashers. Young Slayer was the best. I saw them with Venom and Exodus in April of 1985, and in 1986 at the Olympic Auditorium w/D.R.I., Metal Church, Bl'ast. I'm old now, but at least I can say I saw Slayer when they were young and at their most brutal when they released albums and performed.
another great video!! I saw them a few times with D.R.I and sat inside one of their huge speakers on the corner of the stage cuz the mosh pit was so bloody and scary...surprised I can still hear
i love that song! i play latin stuff, jazz, drum n' bass, rock from the 80's, 90's and some of 2000's to up but necrophobic made me understand that music is so awesome that you can experiment other kinds of playing. very helpful! Slayer we're waiting for you.. from peru!!!
Aww man, I WISH someone had any footage of the Chicago shows, on this tour!!! About 50 of us took the train in from the north suburbs, and got kicked off half way there!?!?!? But, metalheads, left to their own devices??? We got there, with plenty of time to spare \m/ The bill that night: Trouble, Slayer, and W.A.S.P. in that order!?!?!? Needless to say, no one stuck around to see Blackie and the boys >;]
Can confirm 10 years later he is still a monster. See occasional drum workshops and similar, and man, he is an all round amazing drummer, but even if he was playing some free form jazz beats, you can tell his resting heart BPM is 160 and his brain functions at 320 . 🤘
I remember this being one of the first videos I downloaded back in the early days of internet. Took me 3 days.... I remember thinking that the black bouncer in the front seemed to hate being there so badly.
slayer is van af de eerste elpee altijd zeer bekend geweest in holland, holland is een goed land om als american je europese bekendheid mee te beginnen
