50 year old metal head here. Many people of my generation rate Reign in Blood as the hallmark Slayer album; however, South of Heaven is really the most important Slayer album. I rate South of Heaven as a masterpiece of the Heavy Metal music genre.

Slayer shows have had the only crowds where I felt every other fan was family. Even in the pit in front of the stage where things were pretty rough in the old days, if anyone went down, they were picked up from the floor. The best of fans. (F'ing Slayyyyyyyeeeeer!)
No. In order for it to be hell-ish, it has to be painful. Torturous. Eternally fucked up. A Slayer fan's hell would be more like Slayer playing Muskrat Love, or Zamfir playing... pretty much anything

Ozzy "Bark at the moon".Saved up so I could buy it with my own money and was so proud of myself. Still 1 of my fav's. Sorry hatter's but vinyl sucked then and even worse now. 8 track's horrible too. Cassettes were so awesome. Imagine handing ur kid a cassette today. Lol. CD's were gonna be the end all be all and then MP3's and wi-fi. I love this album. A lot of people think that this is weak but man this is good stuff. Cool Hanneman lyrics, multiple tempo changes and complex time signatures, there's something for everyone.

Boomers aren't really known to like k-pop. And now that I think about, Slayer are actually boomers themselves, not that there's anything wrong with that because they are legends of metal.
