I live NE PA, stream fishing is great. Very similar to what you’re fishing there. Great catch from a small stream.

@TheMasterCaster just went out and tried the egg yolk color trout bead on my fly rod as I'm typing this and so far 2 solid fish one using indicator second one nymphing bottom no indicator... you should look into tribs bead pegless removable hard bead.

What is your rig here? I see the indicator, but not swivels, leader, fly, jig?

I’m not sure the exact rig I used here but typically I put my float on a couple feet of 12-15 pound fluoro tied to my mainline of 10lb braid, then below that a micro swivel. Then my leader of 8lb fluoro down to a pegged bead above a size 10 hook. In small streams like this I’ll only use a couple small split shots to get the bead or single egg down. Leader length also just depending on depth

Wow! Awesome video! Just found your channel and subscribed. That is a nice little tributary there withe some decent size steelhead, reminds me of some of the tribs I fish here in Michigan. May I ask what setup you are using?

Hey! Thanks! The setup I’m using is an 8’ Bass Pro Shops Microlite, light action, a KastKing Zephyr 1000 with 12lb braid and 8lb leader

That a steelhead fisherman’s dream. Killing it on that white bead. What do you use to get it to sink? I couldn’t tell if you had any split shot or not.

I actually only had one or two tiny shot on the line. Water is so clear and slow that a lot isn’t usually necessary

Just found the channel and got hooked immediately. I'm going to PA this January and wanted to put together a combo for fishing steelhead like this. Any recommendations? Keep of the vids dude!

Np! Probably like $100/$150. I use a lot of kastking gear. Really love the zephyr reel lineup that I think you're using here.

@Mirza-gt9rr yup that’s the Zephyr! Decent reel but I was only using it on a pinch tbh. For a rod, I would highly recommend the Okuma SST. They have a carbon fiber and a cork version, both are great. I’d recommend the 9’6” length too, good in between for small streams and larger tributaries. Great backbone and my friends have caught some giants on it. As for a reel just any of your favorite 2-3000 sized reels with 10lb braid will get the job done. On my larger drift rod I currently run the KastKing Sharky III 3000 and it gets the job done.

Wow 9'6"?! I didn't think you were serious till I looked it up. I'll definitely look into the okuma, and I'll probably pair it up with my 2500 Daiwa Fuego lt. Thanks for all the advice man! @@TheMasterCaster

@Mirza-gt9rr that 9’6 is pretty long, there’s an 8’ version if you want as well. That will be easier in the tiny creeks I only suggested the longer rod incase you think you’ll be fishing wider streams as well

IDK where he is fishing but I can tell you that is obviously not the Cattaraugus lol. Cattaraugus creek is the biggest stream in Steelhead Alley, this creek looks like one of the smallest to get a stock-run . He's in PA somewhere, the tiny creeks in NY don't get big runs of fish like that.

This small stream can’t handle the exposure and pressure you’ve given it…anything for likes! You do this in every video of every stream you post. You are young, but you will grow up at some point and realize what you’ve done.
