People are weird when they say certain fish aren't good eating, I've fished in Australia since i was 7 years old catching mullet in the georges river on bread so I've tried pretty much everything and tbh they are all truly edible and delicious, people say australian salmon are no good, rubbish they are perfectly good eating, same for tailor, one of my favorites is Bonito, filetted and crumbed and deep fried it is absolutely beautiful, actually tastes like fried chicken.. I don't know where these myhths about bad eating fish come from but they persist in the Australian psyche and it's time they died it really is. Pro tip for those tailer and kingies off the rocks, stop trying to skull drag them in, let them run, give them some line, keep the line tight but let them run, you're trying to bring them in too green and fit, they need to tire out and spend some energy, enjoy the fight stop trying to bully them in, this is why you're losing so many.
Mate, good on ya for having a go. May I suggest removing the location name. You're not gonna be welcomed by many of the regulars that fish that place knowing that you're naming the place on your youtube video.
Thanks mate! I've read about hate head point plenty a time in fishing magazines, it's not much of a secret, haha. I'm a local boy, and have basically fished it all my life. there plenty more secret spots around there, that are true secrets, I won't be revealing those spots. haha. Understand what your saying though.
Reelistic Fishing You live at Hat?So you'd know Glen Beers and Greg Stoneham then. It's no secret spot but naming spots in the game is frowned upon. Being a local youd be aware of the less desirable types flowing in there. It's not about secret spots or known spots it's about the exposure. There are only so many productive ledges on the coast and with google maps and social media these days there's been a growing influx of people coming around. No hate for you here though. Just communicating from one fisho to another. If you have facebook check out tackle chat, Australian land based spin fishers and sportfish extreme. It may help paint a picture of what I'm talking about. Best of luck on your endeavors.
Nah Grow up in Kempsey all my life, with Hat heads being my Fav Spot I live out west now, I do a lot of trout and Murray Cod fishing these days but I like to go back when ever I can.
