If Gil Scott-Heron, John Lydon, Wu Tang Clan and Prodigy collaborated. Genius. This came up while educating myself on the brilliance of Kneecap. SLEAFORD MODS Jobseeker, stopped me in my tracks. Post Punk Hip Hop?! I'm 58 and love this!!!
For a 75 year old geezer, who was inspired by The Beatles, Stones, Who, pink Floyd, Yes, Focus, Neil Young and CRAZY HORSE, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Elvis, Tom Petty, i could go on and on. But these 2 amazing very watchable geezers are fantastic, and the lyrics are music are of the highest quality. Makes you proud to be British.
", following their own groove." bollocks he was out there stating vaccines are the way to go , they follow a shallow groove mate certainly not their own path , wankers / carter thats who they are .
@@TheLunarnotesI Like seeing A getting into it which am sure was Always there, they Both seem to more Animated, went off them for a while, is that the Lass from Dry Cleaning on Jason?X
Wow. Unique. Totally different and outside the box. Just what I needed KEXP. Keep bringing us the hard to find unique good stuff. Sleaford Mods? Thanks guys and keep it going. You made me feel proud to be 50 and a music nerd. Much love! Rochester-NY
As a teenager growing up in the 70's & 80's, here in the UK and witnessing the vanguard of the punk movement, this is pure nostalgia for me. Unless you lived through this period, you may not realise the huge seismic shift that Punk created in the music scene. Orchestrated by Malcolm Mclaren and his visionary genius, the Sex Pistols hit the media as if aliens had landed in Leicester Square. The tabloids predicted the end of civilisation. Questions were asked in parliament. It was the leading feature on the TV news slots. It truly was incredible. The first time I heard the SM's I had a flashback to 1979. This is punk for the 21st century. John Lydon/Rotten will be proud to hear this. His legacy is alive and the SL's are fine torchbearers. Brilliant stuff.
Well said. The 80s punk taking the piss out of authority is pretty much dead. Sleaford Mods have shifted that anger to how shit and mundane our daily lives are. The soul-sucking treadmill of the digital rat race. They're the vanguard of what I like to call austerity punk.
Feel you. As a punk/post punk teenager from argentina, im automatically there in 1980s. "the end of civilisation" quite funny. This crap is ending soon
The brewmaster "Andrew Fearn" has a great rhythm in his movements! makes me want to dance and the vocalist Jason also makes a great performance, hope to see them live some day !
WOW, this is Gold! Its fire!!!The punkest thing I've seen in years. It's so unique, strange and yet fantastic, excellent!!! Thank you again KEXP, you guys only bring the Tip Top stuff ever! Long live the music and creativity, non conformity forever!!!
These guys are incredible live. I have seen them quite a few times and they never disappoint. Their performance go Jobseeker on Joolz Holland's Later show in the UK was a big breakthrough for them back in 2016 I think, plus the amazing Glastonbury show
@@jonathan_ratcliffesame here ,the energy...surprised jools Holland let them on ....57 and got the jobseeker t.shirt ,get some cracker looks in the streets 😊😊😊
These guys are so incredible, 2 guys can make such an unique and amazing music. Also love the fact that Andrew is so loose, it make their live preform have more depth. If i had to bet, id say in 5 years they will be more mainstream than they already are. Such amazing vibes and interesting melodies make me wana go wild!
i love all sorts of music, now, i play all sorts as i am a musician, i currently play lead guitar in a chicago style blues band but i love this! it's so punk rock in spirit..
This is not about exceptional music or singing ability, It's about attitude getting a point across, and having something to say which is far more important
I guess I've been in all the wrong places bc holy shit, I've never heard them until today and I absolutely love this. Brilliant Sleaford Mod s and thank you again KEXP for bringing the good shit!
Absolutely love this set.. It's a definate favourite!! I love it when you guys have a drum and bass type vibe on some of your tracks. Still killing it boys, thank you so much!!!!!
I am 58 yrs old from Massachusetts. Discovered you guy on a Spotify Orbital play list. I have shared your stuff with my circle or friends. Thanks for making your music

I have no idea what I'm watching but it's the most punk thing I've seen in forever. Pit to Pit is the shit. Love these guys. Edit: RTJ tour with these guys would be must see E2: I freakin love this video
@@paulhornby6340 Magic gig. Andrew's dancing is getting out of control! Mr. Williamson was in fine fettle. I might have got a wee bit moshy when 'Jobseeker' came on. Nice crowd. There is a Guardian review (Katie Hawthorne) of the night which doesn't reflect my memories of the evening. Spends half the article going on about the Gazagate thing, which when I read up on it, was a storm in a teacup. Then moans about the sound quality, which was nicely balanced where I was dad dancing. Epic night. How was Leeds?
