I have the same pro-xr 800,I snow checked mine when I worked for Polaris. I did the 2005 updates to my 800,as if they were to make a 2005 pro-xr 800.the main change I did was to change the secondary clutch spring, all the early built 800s with the new team secondary clutch had the spring bind, causing the machine quit accelerating past 90mph,they fixed this with a reverse wound spring.also changed the exhaust power valves to stainless steel ones, and different power valves springs and bellows.and a silent chain tensioner. These changes made a big difference on my machine.
Those old gals have by far the faster skid frame than the proX. Sick video and gives me a reminder why I keep the old sled around myself. (02 XCSP, family owned since new)
@@AKproXR oh I agree all day long on the torque of the 700, I have an 800 from an RMK on my bench that is gonna go in something one day. I hear it's pretty much the same motor just different bore and stroke from the 700 and therefore a little more temperamental but it was a good deal and I couldn't pass it up hahahaha
Excuse me, I know this is a bit random but I'm considering getting an ultrasonic cleaner like you have, except larger.. Can you put like some oily exhaust parts maybe ves from your pro xr and see how it cleans the oil off.. If it works well I'll buy one im just not completely sold yet
My 98 xc 700 w xcr track ,clutched, all shafts balanced, cogs all so.factory ported jugs. 24 40 gears. On ice 114 to 116 mph. Still have sled. Not all the 98s had the good jugs. Run the serial number to find out. It makes some 800s go hide. Have 03 xcr 800 as well.
joshua lewis it is a xtra-10. However it is not in its factory mounting location, and currently is mounted like an rmk would be. This will be something I will be changing in the future, it sits way to high and makes it less stable.
Sweet runs. That 800 is a great runner. Nice job cleaning up the 770. Thats a great runner now too. The 700 is a nice runner also. You have 3 nice snowmachines there my friend. Stay safe in with this virus. I look forward to your videos. Dave. Oh i just subscribed to you channel too. 😊
I just wondered if it was even necessary up there. On a week day in NW Pennsylvania the trails are great. But on weekends thousands of sled woop the hell out of them. But winter hasn’t been what it used to be.
you create a track leading right into that protruding metal stake and you don't bother trying to mark it with something for the next guy...???????....wtf is wrong with you.
New sled would be great. But old school, OH YEAH! I have a 1980 polaris TX-L, it puts more smiles on my face than any of the newer stuff.dont get me wrong, the new stuff is great too. I also have a 2005 700 xc sp, i love the edge!
