I just took my 4 year old camping. Fire and tent on the beach. High tide had the ocean maybe 20ft from us and she was out like a light. Then I got a pillow (small log/drift wood) and laid on my back. Beer in hand and fire crackling with the waves. Was bliss.

Many of us encounter what you are describing. About an hour before bed I drink Sleepytime or "Sleep +" (Twinings) tea then I watch this every night about 15-20 minutes before bedtime; turn off all the lights.t. I love to write so sometimes will journal out my thoughts and anxieties, before watching this while drinking tea. Most of the time it helps. Just offering what might help others. A physician also told me melatonin might help but I can only take 5 mg as it really makes me groggy the next day but yes have a good night's sleep. There are alot of people that have these issues! Now I am trying saffron tea!
