Really great performances from all involved! My only criticism is I felt the mix could have used some more work, a lot of the elements feel very disjointed and abrupt and the vocal track, to me at least, sounds very dry. I only mean that as an opinion and to be helpful, not as an overall criticism of those involved because the standalone performances were outstanding. I just found myself unable to fully get into it with the mix in its current state. Love your work Andrew and I look forward to more!
So true, id like to see andrew work with some mixing engineer or someone to mix and master his tracks (I'd love to do it but I dont think Andrew Will reach out to me lel). Rn i hear couple things that really hurt my ears when listening to his covers, mainly those are his drums. I belive he uses stock unmixed GGD Invasion for the drums and do not get me wrong - the kit itself is super good, I use it for like every song I produce rn, but in dense mix like this, drums without propper mixing are disappearing under the bass and guitar. So thats the main thing I'd change. And the second thing are the bass and guitar tones. I belive he runs his DI tracks throught Archetype Gojira, which again, is a amazing amp. I'm using it on many productions and it always does its job. But I think his tones are lacking definition and are super uncontrolled and muddy, during those super low parts, the bass from palm mutes is just jumping super high and causes the whole mix to pump and sound weird. And the same thing with his bass, i belive he just slaps Paralax or something like that on his DI bass and calls it good. So again, Andrew, if you're reading this, please, work with someone to mix your stuff (you can hit me up on my IG if you want ofc @deathcorejesus). That's all, love ur work Andrew, no hate just positive criticism.
Absolutely stunning! Your rendition gave me chills. Totally smashed it. It would be awesome if you covered "End Up Dead" by Nick Thurl. I think you'd enjoy it!
This is the first time I'm mitigated on one of your cover. :(( I feel like her voice (as nice as it is, don't get me wrong, she has a beautiful voice!) doesn't fit all the song.. The 2nd part of the song was nice, no problem about that, but for the 1st part I dunno, I feel like it wasn't it. I think the mix has something to do with it too (sometimes could barely hear her voice), but in general something left me perplex during the listening.. No hate here of course, I've been following you for years and still appreciate a lot your contents, and again her voice is really great (Vessel's vocal signature is kinda hard to reproduce/follow, ngl). But yeah.. I guess this one is just not for me. :(
I love listening to what you are doing here and there are many awesome songs you introduce me to, thank you!You have to cover October Ends song Dark. Everyone’s gonna be talking about Nick’s voice soon!
If I'm being honest I clicked this expecting it to sound terrible or mediocre at best! This was a very pleasant surprise. Well done! There's a new song by Nick thurl and it's got SUCH amazing vocals. I think you'd kill it if you covered it.
This sounded amazing and the song is pretty tough to pull off if I’m not mistaken. You should do a cover with Nick Mavromatis. He sounds phenomenal and you together would sound great!
@@DristaFF this is why the Vessel's voice is fitting this kind of style. He has an EQ in his voice already. Its so hard to copy because its gonna be a shitty copy or very good engineers work, which would not be replicated live.
Great guitar playing but lets be honest, if it wasn't for her looks, ppl would be hating on the vocals. Also, can someone more educated in music theory tell me why it sounds out of key?
Baena my man, I love your content so much. Please use a different drum VST. Hearing sleep token songs with this 2008 attack attack sounding steven slater mix isn’t right. Your guitar tones are absolutely monstrous and you clearly put in a hell of a lot of effort into replicating the drum parts of each song. But to hear every cover use these same drum tones, which frankly sound awful, really throws a wrench in the gears. Please bro, just use GGD or something.
Sleep token come up with bad ass riffs... then their songs suddenly turn, and it sounds like Maroon 5 took over the studio. At that point, I hit the skip button.
