When you go RBC are you going to go 72mm throttle body or bigger? Or have you already upgraded your throttle body? What size injectors and fuel pump are you running?
How much did it cost to turbo your 9th gen and would you recommend doing that over supercharger? I'm currently driving an 8th gen si and idk if I want to go supercharger, turbo, all motor or save up for a 9th gen. I just love the way the 2014/2015 9th gen coupes look in black lowered on some nice wheels 😮💨👌
For starters 8th gens are good platforms to boost as well. Your early stages of costs are looking around anywhere between $5000-$7000 this is for the kit and some supporting essentials you’ll need. If you plan on pushing over 400 you’ll need a built trans which will run you 3k along with a boost controller
Coming from someone that had both cars. Currently have a boosted 9th gen. Don't waste your money on a sc the power will get old quick. Try looking for a used kit and just upgrade what you need. My kit cost me 1500 and I made 460whp on my 8th gen. Transfered what I could to the 9th gen and running strong on 16psi.
i have the same car that thing sounds sick, anything you’d recommend if i want to buy this kit and have a shop install it? and how much have you spent roughly?
The kit was around $4500, I installed it myself so I don’t know how much a shop would charge, maybe upwards of $1200 for labor. I’ve spent around 9k in parts. Built trans is costly. Currently building the engine too so more money. But bare minimum 4500 with some 1000cc injectors you can push 300-340 reliably on 7lbs. All depends on the tuner. If you want power don’t waste your money in FBO, save up for a turbo kit. That’s my recommendation.
Built trans? Im kraftwerks SC blew my stock 4th gear last week and now I have another stock trans. If you are built trans what gearset are you running?
ive got the same engine in my car and was wondering how long you have been boosting it for and if its still reliable, i want to boost mine to probably 5-8 psi but just curious about the reliable part
You’ll be fine my guy. I’ve had the car boosted for a year now. On 18lbs I stock block unopened head. Crossing my fingers but I really don’t push it too hard on 18lbs I have a lower boost setting (12lbs) you’ll be fine. If anything your trans will prolly give out before your engine depending on your tune. 11.5 AFR go on e85 and you’re solid
It takes about 12 weeks for makspeed to fabricate the entire kit. I installed the kit myself which took about 4 days. That’s on top of working 8 hr shifts. I know shops that can have them installed and tuned within 2 days. You’re mostly going to be waiting on parts.
Turbo accord is trash lmao. Makes nowhere near what a boosted SI would make. He’s probably on a super conservative tune on pump. It’s not hard to push 550-600hp out of a civic, which will walk basically anything if you can put power down
