Sleepers 1996 Ending Don't own anything, don't want anything, only for someone who liked the movie and would want to see the ending scene again, which is a great one.
They way john and tommy look at each other and laugh after saying we always got time for a song makes u really believe they have been friends since childhood
I find the ending so sad, these guys could’ve reach their full potential if it wasn’t for those guards, they left them with scars that they never recovered from. That’s truly sad.
As a victim of abuse myself, we choose how we let those scars effect us. People who go on to be killers and drug dealers choose they way it wasn't the abuse that makes them lead that kind if life.
They all got fucked up by this in their own way. The ones who survived at the end weren't exactly bundles of joy either. So all their lives went to shit because of it
When I was young, I stayed up late & watched this movie. It left me in such a state of shock & since I wasn’t allowed to be up that late, I couldn’t discuss it with an adult for them to help me stomach it.
This is the perfect example of how people can experience the same traumatic experiences but handle them very differently. Some turn to drugs, crime, alcohol.. others manage to move onto professions.. careers.. others live a quiet life. The book is a difficult read.. the film did the book justice.
Probably my favourite movie of all time. Favourite scenes. Father Bobby confronts the boyfriend And this one. 'nah...... We always got time for a song' brilliant.
the ending to this is very sad reminds me of Stand By Me where you try to hold onto friendship for as long as you can and cherish your moments together before you go your separate ways
Sad as it is; I love the ending. It does not sugarcoat what happened, it does not magically change all their lives because it what be nice. It provide a real ending to the tragedy it tells.
I read the book sleepers and I highly recommend it, I was in tears from the moment the boys were sent to that prison right through to the end. Not many films can live up to the film but I think this one does .the actors really bring the characters to life, I cried throughout the film
I cried really hard during this scene. This was supposed to be a happy ending for their story but the narration said otherwise when Shakes explained the tragic endings for Tommy and John. And how Michael becomes a recluse. The final shot with all 5 of them as a kid was just the final straw for me. I was left broken. I hated Kevin Bacon for a few years after that. He was THAT good!
The ending is gut wrenching when you learn this band of 5 childhood best friends, once inseparable, it was their gathering ever! and those remaining alive, moved apart & away, living a low profile life after this trial. Would they ever think about the memories of their friendship, the time they spend together and more so about the events and trial and how they came together when the bond of lifelong friendship called for it?
Beautiful people destroyed , great cast,, wounderful actors , its a great story of what went on in these institutions it happened in my country as well , mainly to girls and women the state has a lot to answer for its a actions
We also were a 5 man gang named after one of the streets we grew up in. Never a pot to piss in and all broken homes but totally brothers to a man. Lossed one of them exactly a year ago and not a minute goes past I don't think of him and how it once was. Unbelievable heartbreaking sometimes but that is soon converted into joy and laughter with all those priceless memories. RIP my bestest friend ever and ever Ian Francis Joseph Fleming 😢❤❤
A very well-made sweet but at the same time bitter ending. John and Tommy because of their childhood experiences turned them into career criminals and cut-throat murderers. But here, they are just being kids again enjoying the time of their lives with their childhood friends who also is the only family they both have. It wont last though
The fundamental flaw of this movie is that records would have shown that Pitt's character was also in at Wilkinson's and he would never have been allowed on the case. Apart from that brilliant movie.
they said the records are deleted after so long. the flaw is that the guard on trial...Ferguson...says yes when asked if he witnessed any rapes at the Wilkinson home for boys. if hed said no it wouldnt have been so easy to prosecute him/ them.
I heard this film isn't apparently a true story. The author of the book refused to speak about it when New York said they don't have any cases like the one they were involved in. Don't know what to believe.
Not a bit insensitive. This type of bullshit cry baby garbage today is the beginning of the end of the good life. Congrats on being a part of that cancer.
@candom rommenter Interesting to see that you need to call other people "moron" only because your opinion differ from them. That clearly betrays your education (or rather the lack thereof). Don't bother to reply again. I'm not going to waste my time debating with someone like you.
@@PsychoKillertheGame I'm not insisting my point of view here; I'm merely asking about people's perception if this is "insensitive". If you think it's not, fine. Funny you feel the need to call other people "cancer" when their opinion differ from yours. But thank you! I'm glad to belong to people who try to be sensitive in front of those who were raped and who don't insult others just because of differing views. Good day.
