It's funny hearing Tom say turning the show into a procedural would be hellish, considering turning it into a procedural is exactly what they did in season three. It's so crazy to look back at all the potential this show had and how they messed it up.
Dan asked some good questions! Thanks for the interview! Oh, and I'd LOVE to see Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison in something else as a couple...I had a dream with them as a couple. If not, whatever! I'll keep watching the show!
No, I think they said they didn't expect it to be a critical success. They probably weren't sure about the general public either...but they took a risk, as all actors do, and it paid off.
3:12 Sad, here in Germany and other German speaking areas SLEEPY HOLLOW had been a total flop. Problem, it is based to much on the early American history knowledge. Back in the Seventieth that had been no problem. Back then everyone wrote about it. Even some German novels with the Independance War topic like DER WINTER DER EIN SOMMER WAR [ also was filmed ] became popular but that generation isn´t anymore watching the show as far as being alive still.
It really had very little to do with American history, although some of the main characters were from that era and that played into the story. The supernatural elements and the relationship between Ichabod and Abbie were the main points.
