The Aquatuner steam turbine combo is one of the most important game mechanics you need to learn.
@breno2808
@breno2808 11 месяцев назад
Do you know if that combo is sustainable by it self? I mean, the steam turbine will produce enough energy for the aquatuner?
@danielmcgillis270

@@breno2808 it is not self sustainable. However, you do need something to keep the aquatuner cool. That is where the steam turbine comes in. Deleting heat

For the sleet wheat, the 'fruit' is also the seed. So you'll want to stop your autosweeps from hoovering them away until your farm is populated.

Since we don't rely on the sleet wheat for anything, I didn't mind it taking a little while longer. Spoiler: By then end of the next episode we have 800k kcal of berry sludge :)

Hey, with the Beeta hives they need to be sectioned off. Only 1 beeta hive will operate per “room”. Wall and pneumatic doors are your friends. The doors can be open, but each hive needs to be in a separate room.

This is what we ended up doing. Still wanted to do some research to see if there was any other way.

17:10 - And that is why "Suppress notifications" mod is rated "#1 Mental health mod" of all times.
@sleve2979
@sleve2979 2 года назад
You should get the mod " supress notification", you can select a building like a entombed tempshift plate and select supress notification to clear it, same with building missing ressource (like rock crusher missing egg shell), very nice mod for a clean game. For debris in steam room you can remove them with a ladder then when you deconstruct the lader you place a new ladder building not far from the dupe destroying it a second before he finish and pause the game a soon as it is destroyed, you should see him pick up the ladder debris to build the new one (with game paused), if he do not pick it up look at who is picking it up and make them run somewhere to cancel the action then move your 1rst dupe on his tile to reset his action and this time he should pick up the debris then you can unpause (long explanation but is done very quickly when you understand it).

snake the water from the steam turbine before going back into the steam area. You just went down bridged it up not giving that chill thru the steam turbine to take some of the heat back with it. Also could just encase with insulation tile and vacuum it out with some mini pumps and just leave it there. Area around wont heat up and with the snaked pipes to cool it down it should be good for ever.

I've never seen it on the output. I was wondering if anybody else would comment on that.
@EchoRidgeGaming
@EchoRidgeGaming 2 года назад
I put it where ever is functional I can fit it. It tends to end up on the output because of where I have falling into a habit of placing it. It ends up with the same result over time, although I would prefer to have it on the input for more precision at the start.
@xarzneimittel8220
@xarzneimittel8220 2 года назад
Let me tell you, it is important to put it BEFORE the aqua-tuner. You need a consistent read of temperature BEFORE you cool it 14 degrees down. In the case of polluted water for example, you may read that you still need to cool it down if you reed if after, but as it goes through the aqua-tuner it ends up freezing! The safety is before. Just check what temperature range you need and sooner than later it will be easier to spot a good temperature. This is unless you have super coolant at which point nothing really matters lol
@jasonmoggridge1566
@jasonmoggridge1566 2 года назад
Hydrogen vents can be tamed with a self cooling steam turbine. You just need to delay pumping the hydrogen until it is cooled and make sure the hydrogen chamber has enough room to avoid over pressurizing between eruptions. For the case in the video it really doesn't matter because power is cheap, but it is important for an all achievement/Super Sustainable run.

With the sleet wheet, the incoming water temperature is the most influential for core plant temp, chill that water to 0° and you’ll be fine.

What I did was make a big ice box, I then had the water pass through it, but only exactly enough for 2 x sleet wheet. Then had an outlet which is covered by a mining thingy and auto sweepers to move the ice into my main tank.

I don't play with the DLC, so I can't speak too much on it, but thinking of how the other creatures work... Do the bees maybe need their little areas sectioned off, so they don't sense the other hives/bees? Maybe try tossing in a couple of strategically placed pneumatic doors and seeing if that does anything for production? Tyfs! Hope you have a great week! Best of wishes.

You have to enable auto harvest on the beta hives. That'll allow you to collect all the enriched uranium. If that isn't the issue, it might be too cold in there.
@EchoRidgeGaming

I don't like enabling auto harvest on the hives. If you do, the dupe will go get it too often. And considering they can harvest all of it at once, I only do it once every 50 cycles or so.

wasting alot of energy by using the wrong coolant.... the crude and petroleum heat capacity is way too inefficient to start with... one AT with p.water coolant is almost equivalant to two AT with crude and petrol even thought it reduce the same temperature by 14 degree. based on all the build shown a p.water can easily bring the system down to just below freezing point and easier to maintain the system temperature then straight on reducing a medium down to much lower temperature but the heat deleted is not enough to maintain it. It would be easier to change most AT system to P.water and the food storage just use hyrdrogen with the fan before obtain either nuclear waste or super coolant
@EchoRidgeGaming
@EchoRidgeGaming 2 года назад
Unless I have to I try not to use p.water. It has 4x lower thermal conductivity and only 2x higher heat capacity. Most importantly though, I like the additional freezing range of oil/petro, considering p.water freezes at ~-20. Great tips on the p.water though, and I am sure it would be better for me in a lot of applications. I have never had a colony go this long without super coolant, so I am hoping soon it will be a non-factor anyways.
