OML THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS COMMENT I’m finding comments that only show the negative side of it but don’t TrueType notice how well it is played coming from high school kids! This piece truly is wonderful and would like to say that they keep it up because they are doing well
To all saying I’m out of tune: This was my 8th performance that night during the concert switching between 3 instruments. So, staying in tune became harder when people performed back to back to back and I had to sprint from one area to another . I think for what it is, i don’t think it’s that big of a deal especially since the night was supposed to be fun! If it were a typical concert of just 1 performance I would have definitely been more tentative
As a freshman flutist I love the fact that you did all the trills AND verbrato. Literally points for you. We did sleigh ride as well this year aswell haha so we all had to suffer learning this song. Anyways you’re really good and talented w/ playing different instruments!
This is my first year in a band in 8th grade learning the clarent will it be ok for me to learn the flute when I get to highschool or can I just continue with the clarent. What do you think??? I really want to learn the flute and even regret not joining band as a flute player😢
I love the little hat on your flute, we just had our big winter performance at my school before break and it was so much fun. I’m in the lower band because I just started playing flute this summer so it was really cool to get to watch all the wind ansamble kids play songs and especially this one!! Amazing job you sounded so good, and also what other instruments were you playing! Doubling/tripling is so cool and difficult especially in one show! I’m inspired to improve even more so thanks for posting this!! (One of the bassoonists at my school was switching between oboe and bass on in the same freaking song!! It’s so amazing to get to watch other people play up close, I only wish I started sooner lol)
One of my friends just started flute this year too! I double with bassoon but for different band levels unless the wind ensemble really needs me to play for the bassoon part
I’m only in 5th grade .-. But seeing you play this is really inspiring to me I hope to play like you someday (and this song too) 😊 I play flute and alto saxophone
dude this is so good!! especially since you've been switching from instrument to instrument, that's impressive, can't imagine the stress running back and forth during a performance.
I love this! I am a sophomore flautist, and I love hearing this song! My director refuses to let us play it because our band would crash and burn *sobs* I don't know what grade you're in, but this sounds amazing! I love this! I love how you move with the music - it's like you're really feeling it. I do it too, haha! My director always says that I look like I'm rowing a boat lol. Either way, keep it up! You sound amazing!
its so great to see someone else who bounces when they play, im a clarinet player and people always point out that i bob my head to the music while playing and think its weird, NORMALIZE ENJOYING THE MUSIC YOURE PLAYING!!!!!
i’m an all state flutist in tennessee, and am principal piccolo in a vanderbilt flute orchestra amongst many other things, and when i tell you to not even worry about what other people say regarding tone and intonation. YOU SOUND AMAZING. not many people can play technical like that, and especially with switching instruments you ate that up as hard as you could. keep it up. ❤️❤️❤️
usually i tend to discourage bopping to the beat but seems pretty fitting here lol, great job! the band certainly stayed together much better than my high school did eek
I really like how you were very relaxed in the high notes i notice a lot of flute players get tense in the shoulder area when playing high notes but you were very relaxed and it was obvious you were having a good time and your embocher was amazing
This is so amazing! you are literally so talented the way you groove to the music when you're playing is so nice :) I have watched this so many of times and it still hits the same! keep up the good work
i’m still coming back to this, but this video gives me hope cause i’ve only been playing for 7 months and i got into my advanced band a month into learning in beginner.. keep up the amazing high notes!
im not a band kid, im more a choir kid, but this was absolutely amazing! the way you play is so good, and i love the little hat on the flute! also, your makeup is so cute! keep up the amazing work!
Off topic, but your hair is so pretty. And you’re such a good flute player. I also am a flute player and I really hope I can get as good as you are eventually
I can't even tell I'm a choir kid I just love the sound of bands and orchestras because even though I can play by ear or whatever it's called I never learned how to properly play any instrument so good job.
I was so excited when I saw this. I am the section leader of the flute in my section and I am just amazed at how well you play. Keep up the amazing work!
I loved this so much- the movement you do with the music AAA can relateeee omgg I don't play the flute but when you're sucked into the music it's just natural *v* you played beautiful and your makeup is so freaking prettyyy broo great job!!
Omg this is really good I actually preformed this peice for my winter concert too! Also I love the tiny hat that you added on the flute its so adorible!!
not sure why youtube recommended me this a year later but not complaing! as a flute player i thought it was great! also the little hat is so cute and i love your makeup
Such beautiful sounds, my main instrument is clarinet, but I'm also learning the oboe and flute, and this video shows what I want to play as a flute player😁
Going to an art school for flute as a middle schooler seeing people at the same skill as me (an eighth grader) is wonderful and empowering keep it up and you could get into a good college for this sort of playing
hey you sound so good!!! you got to practice listening to everyone else and make sure you sound the same but you’re range and articulations are amazing!!!! go you
this little band trend with this song is so fun! im performing this song for my concert next month so im thinking of hopping on the trend. you did amazing by the way! your hair is so pretty
i’m in 6th grade and in beginners band but i love seeing videos like this! it really inspires me and i hope i can be as good as you!! ( btw you did amazing!!)
az someone who js started band thiz yr (i play alto sax) i think u played super well esp since u were switching instrumentz !! also you slayed so much omg
(Sorry for my bad English please) as a professional flutist I think it sounded great. She is not professional. So it did sound good. As someone already said this is not Berlin or any other big orchestra ofc. I am writing this comment because I saw people saying "it's not her fault she's not in tune, it's the director's fault", or "She didn't have time to tune" I am sorry for telling you this but you don't need a conductor to tune, or time... That is a wrong way of thinking! You train your ear for that, you can start a piece without warming up (flute is one of the fastest instruments warming up) and sound out of tune and you know right away if you are sharp or flat, it's automatic (sorry I don't know if it's written like this). Every student or professional musician knows how to tune himself without the need of a conductor or time... It's just listening, using harmonics, listening to oboe section if they're in tune, or to clarinets if there are no oboes and so and so... But I repeat, she is not professional obviously so it sounded and sounds very good, very nice 👏
(undergrad flute performance here) mostly agreed! i want to add that the player really has to put time into ear training and ensemble playing- and listening to recordings- to have their own sense of intonation
@@andrewh967 agreed, it takes some time and training to get to it. I myself had some intonation problems back in the day and chamber music, ensembles and orchestras really helped a lot and maybe also some work with a tuning device (I only know the name in my language) ☺️ but I got to say... That F# in pp ... Still makes me want to crawl walls and scream inside ahahaha
Yo since u r pro can u give me tips how to get better at rhythm since I’m a trumpet in my middle school 7th grade and I never get 1st parts, I argue I’m better than one of the people who get the first part, I think my weakness/what I need to work on is rythm
Little bit late to see this but this inspires me so much! I'm in seventh grade and been playing flute for about three years and someday I wanna be able to play like this!!!
Bro I wish that I asked my band teacher if we could play this and I’m so inspired by you I’ve been playing flute since I was 4 and seeing this video is inspiring to learn more pieces (btw ur so gorgeous)
i have been playing the clarient for 1 1/2 years (i am in sixth grade) and i am honestly really excited to do songs like this. wind ensemble, a band at my school, played this song!
yes!!! a fellow clarinet player here, you should be excited these types of pieces are so fun. Getting further into your band career, I hope you'll get to learn such fun amazing pieces like these!!! :))))
i wish my band teacher would allow us to play sleigh ride i really wanna join in on this trend😭🙏 but anyways you sounded AMAZING!! (also you’re like stunning, I love your hair
