Now I'm no screenwriter, but I have a better idea for this movie. Instead of going through the typical horror movie cliches, follow a similar structure to that Slender game. A woman wakes up in the forest. It could even be some mystical supernatural shit where it's like she's stuck in one instant. So it feels like it's constantly night time in this forest. She starts finding papers posted on trees and on the ground, but instead of those cringey "scary" drawings, it's posters of missing people, including herself. She finds more and more posters and tries to find all of the people which were taken into that forest, while trying to outrun Slenderman. It could even be shot in Washington State. The forests are beautiful but can be scary at night. Of course, I strongly believe this movie should never have existed, especially this late after it was a popular trend. But seriously, if they wanted a movie that worked, just drop the whole fucking story shit and just go for something basic. Just copy the game, honestly.

Fun Fact! Slender Man is not actually CGI; For most of the scenes, Javier Botet (who is also Mama from Mama and The Crooked Man from The Conjuring 2) plays the part of Slender Man. He was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome which means he is extremely slender, tall and skeletal AND therefore makes him an amazing horror movie monster! You should check out all of the roles he's done bc most of them I thought were CGI cuz wow

I think the reason the movie was boring was due to the "death" scenes in the movie. The actors chosen to play teenagers in this movie actually look like teenagers in real life compared to other cliché "teen" actors from other horror movies who look more like they're going on 30. It's somewhat acceptable to watch adults get murdered but it's awkward/unsettling to see children or teens get butchered. It's a no-no.
