I wish this was SO MUCH longer. DM and WHM are my two go-to podcasts at the moment and I hope they get the chance to do another merger soon. The worlds collided this week! I hope people who don't know We Hate Movies give their podcast some love after this. They're so awesome! I'm sure all six of them had a great hang after this episode ended :). I remember as a kid when Slenderman was actually scary. Remember I use to live near the woods, me and a friend would take an old radio down into the woods, but because we didn't know how to use it whenever we'd turn the radio on in the woods it'd cause static, therefore "proof" that Slenderman was real. Lol

He wanted Victor to create a FrankenBride for him and he actually started work on it until he realised "hey uhh maybe i don't want these walking corpse-jigsaws breeding?" Of course (and I'm not the first person to point this out), that implies that yes, Victor had indeed given the Monster a fully-functioning cock and balls. In fact, the monster was considerably taller than a regular person (~8 feet) to make it easier for Victor to construct, so, proportionally speaking, the Monster himself was hung like a reanimated horse :3

The slender man fan lore and everything else could've made for a variety of great movies. Besides the lost in the forest idea, a movie could be made as a slow burn that follows a slender man target. A slow drive to insanity as people cant see the danger that looms over them.

The scariest part of this movie is when I was watching it with friends at their place and someone started knocking on the windows of the room we were in, and that happened at the very start of the movie. Safe to say we were only kind of spooked throughout the rest of the movie because of how unnerved we were by the knocking. Had the knocking not happened I’m 100% sure we wouldn’t have been spooked at all.

fun fact, the girl who was in new girl was ALSO in a law & order svu episode that was super obviously based on those girls who tried to kill their friend for slenderman

I’ve invested a lot of time into studying Creepypastas: both the lore and the community and I never ever heard of Skinny Sally. If that was actually made by the community, that’s not surprising. Still prefer Marble Hornets.

I love We Hate Movies! I binged a bunch of their podcasts recently

I've been binging the deadmeat podcast playlist for a few days now and I'm loving it. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard watching a video before. I would have never imagined myself laughing at defeating slenderman by circle jerking. Much less laughing about it for almost 5 minutes. But holy shit is that fucking funny.

I'm glad you guys brought up Marble Hornets because I was going to geek out so hard about it. NightMind explains it best (in my opinion) but the cliff notes version is that Marble Hornets was more or less created at the same time as the SomethingAwful post. And surprisingly, a lot of the mythos and powers we give to Slender Man were originated by MH. Fun facts and all. And yeah, this movie sucked. I had high hopes, and honestly, only some slender web series have been good. :)

I was a Somethingawful forums member and was posting Photoshops in the thread that created slender man . I used to be proud of that, until this movie.

For anyone wondering who "We hate movies" is, just do yourself a favor and download it now. I have never so much at work as i have while listening to WHM. One of favorite things every week.

This whole movie was such a frustrating experience. This is what happens when Movie directors and Script writers don't care about the source material. They just make up shit and ruin the whole thing, because they're missing the point of why the Creepypasta Creature is so freaking terrifying :C

ive been meaning to shit on this movie online and im glad that i can do it here (joining a handful of yall)...first of all, it is SO disrespectful to the creepypasta community that they just butchered his whole story, his MOTIVE, and just HIM as a whole character :( slenderman is my favorite CP and it made me so mad that they threw a bunch of failed attempts to make him something that hes not (in one whole plot??? like hes a vlogger in one scene then hes some electromagnetic force, and then he’s a tree? WTF). like what one of the guys said, it would have made SO much more sense if the movie was about a bunch of kids getting haunted by slendy OR maybe just teenagers trying to track him down bc he stole some kids? idk, something involving kids bc thats literally his whole niche .. and stick with the fact that he’s an extraterrestrial being in the form of a tall man? mind you, like what, 10 FEET, not human size at all :/ the only scare i liked was the one where the camera was blurry and he was just standing in the corner behind chloe i think LMAO you couldnt even see him well but it was the only accurate one out of all the shitty versions of him they threw in there... but ugh i dont want to rant so much (i do but not here) but i just think this whole movie was a waste of time..if you know his lore then you know how REALLY bad the movie was, worse than what dead meat are saying lmao-idk one day i would love to make a whole creepypasta series of films if i ever become a film director, or i hope someone who actually knows the lore and cares about it will in the future!!

I'd say that the whole "a person was stabbed over this" angle is a pretty misplaced interpretation based on bad reporting about said crime and minimal followup research by most who remember that headline. You might as well say they shouldn't do batman movies because of that shooting where a crazy person claimed to be inspired by the joker. Speaking as someone who is *actually* severely mentally ill to the point of having experienced the wonders of psychosis (unlike the majority of the people whose crimes get recontextualized as being about mental illness and not guns/cops or whatever) while most of us are harmless as a fly the potentially-dangerous delusions you develop can come from anywhere or anything, and have no right affecting anyone else's perception of that thing. I spent a while convinced I could tell the future based on overinterpretation of the lyrics in Chili Peppers songs, until my first stint on a mood stabilizer. It's not like Son of Sam's dog, because Slender Man is a shared creation of varied users across the internet over more than a decade now that someone *attached* their madness onto (or used as a pretense to manipulate a friend into committing a murder, depending on one's interpretation) rather than a thing which is *from* the delusions of an attempted murderer. The better comparison is The White Album - we can all still talk about how the Beatles hit it out of the park on that one without anyone butting in and saying "Hey! Sharon Tate died because of that!"

Forgot if they mentioned this during the Podcast but they banned the Slenderman movie in most (if not all) theaters in Wisconsin since the stabbing took place somewhere near Chicago if I'm not mistaken? I would know since I live in WI and saw the news report. Still very chilling to remember

And the child you were talking about name is Sally Williams She is another creepypasta (with a really messed up story might I add-) she’s an 8 year old ghost And usually (for some reason) people in the fandom say “oh ya!
