They are a 5 piece all SIBLING BAND. The talent in this family is something we've never seen before. They are an independent band , they film there own videos and Sam on guitar edits them. PRETTY AWESOME AAYYY

In their cover of Holy Diver by Dio I believe Sam, the guitarist, is only 19 and he is the oldest!! Dude can shread!!

A birdie told me you were doing a reaction to Liliac.. I had to pop in. Yea.. Floored me too when I first heard Liliac four years ago watch them grow up.. They are amazing!! You're going to be a "fang" now!!! And they are self produced family project with their Dad. Welcome to Liliac! Melody is far from demon status she is an angel, her vocals are to be reckoned. Sam is one of my favorite guitarists. Ethan is far beyond his years on bass as is Justin. Abigail is a top drummer which is recognized by many famous drummers including The Appice brothers. Rock on and Rock Hard! ❤💜🔥🔥🤘🏻

Dio was her idol growing up.

Liliac (lily-ack) which means bat in Romanian is a sibling band. Their parents are originally from Romania, met, married and started their family in LA, they moved to Georgia a few years ago. Their parents got them interested in music and playing instruments so they weren’t playing video games all weekend. It turned out they were all talented and they were interested in metal/rock from the 70’s and 80’s. They started out when they were quite young playing covers on the Santa Monica Pier to get used to performing in public. Sam (guitar and backing vocals is the oldest and is currently 24; Abigail the drummer, who just got married a couple of months ago, is 23, Melody 21, besides vocals also plays flute and originally played bass, Ethan is 18 and now plays bass and can also play rhythm and Justin the youngest in keyboards is sixteen. Melody can also sing do Mongolian throat singing and has a multi-octave range. Sam sings lead on Somber Cry and has a tenor range which blends well with Melody’s voice. If you want to go down the “rabbit hole” I suggest you start with early covers of Crazy Train, Enter Sandman, The Trooper, Holy Diver, Last in Line, Paranoid, Master of Puppets, Symphony of Destruction, I Hate Myself for Loving You, Seven Nation Army and Teen Spirit. Then their originals, Nothing, Dear Father, We Are the Children, Mars (Live in Cumming, GA) which starts with a killer solo by Sam, Mystery, Sail Away, Not Afraid (extended version), and Carousel. There are many other originals and covers too, but I think these give you a good idea of their skills and talent as they’ve grown. BTW, Wendy Dio personally asked them to perform Last in Line for the cancer fund tribute, and it’s a slightly extended version Vinnie Appice created just for them. Stewart Copeland of the Police is a big fan of theirs too.

Liliac has many covers of rock/metal songs. They also have 3 full albums of original music. All songs are great.

If you like simple well done songs with a great groove. Their original Not Afraid Extended version is right up your alley. Comparison of Melodia to Dio is a great compliment. Dio is her main inspiration. No one covers Dio like Liliac and Melody Great reaction.

Check out Dear Father. That is probably the most Nightwish-y song. My favorite songs are their Original songs such as Wild One, Hologram, Hypothermia, Annabella, We Fight We Fall. Melody is heavily inspired by Dio. They have done lots of Covers to go along with their Originals such as Dio, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc.

I am a huge Liliac fan and i love watching reaction videos, especially ones with your level of obviously knowledgeable analysis, and especially the first listen to them. First time I heard Liliac I was completely blown away! Then I saw them in Crowley, La. on a cold October night! I am still completely blown away by everything they put out! Long live Rock’n’Roll!

I just saw them live for the first time. They are incredible and put on a great show.

I don't think i've ever followed a band as closely as this one. You have it pegged, dude. I found them with an older cover of Ozzy's Crazy Train and long story short, it was like being walloped between the eyes with a 2x4. I was stunned and stayed that way chasing through what I could find. And down the Rabbit hole I went.. HARD. The talent of these kids and the Drive they have to be the best at what they do is just so amazing to watch. Can't get enough of it and as an artist myself, seeing them grow so much in their skill, presentation, stage presence.. it's like watching a great artist paint to completion a bit at a time. Watching Melody in the studio doing vocals was mind blowing.. she paints as well, btw, and piecing together vocal tracks on a take was like watching her paint with sound. It was a revelation to watch and so so impressive to me. The whole family isn't just talented.. they're just good people. And it takes the whole thing up a notch knowing how much they care about what they do and care about their fans and are still just down to earth, real people. So much fun and can't wait for the next whatever it is they got coming.. lol. Love your reaction. Love the breakdown. love everything about this. I discovered this band 2 years ago and since have seen them live twice. They are great. Funny you should mention DIO as he is Melody's biggest influence. Check out her DIO covers on YT. The bands originals are very impressive, the musicianship, writing, and groves are a breath of fresh air in a world of shit music. Lot of videos of their music online, check out some more. Might I suggest "Not Afraid" and "Sail Away" as a start to hear their talent.

FYI: Yes Melody is only 21, but first not only is she a great singer, she also has been singing professionally for a decade now. So has had plenty of time to practice and develop her own natural great singing. As others have noted, she will love the fact that you picked up on her Ronnie vibes as that is her idol. I have a huge smile on my face as you describe Melody's voice. Yes it truly is unique and we love her for it. Glad you've been introduced to Liliac and I hope to see you do more of them. Example: Their original, "Not Afraid", where it shows them performing LIVE in several venues. BUT, if you are ready and able, jump down into that rabbit of theirs and explore as they perform on the Santa Monica Pier as teenagers until now. (Madness is their most recent release). I understand they will be releasing their MV of the cover of DIO's "Heaven and Earth". Yes as most bands everywhere are too familiar with, they started out as a cover band. They have moved far away from that as you heard, however. Enjoy our kids and I hope to hear more in the near future. Their motto is" Rock on and rock hard.

Liliac ( Lilly-Ack ) started out with doing covers and basically have become the masters of covers, everything they touch turns out to be nothing short of phenomenal! From Somebody To Love by Jefferson Airplane to their newly released Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath with Dio and everything in between are Amazing! You gotta checkout their version of 7 Nation Army and their original Carousel if you really want to hear Melodys ranges! Mind blowing! Not to go unmentioned, they have 3 original LPs called Chain of Thorns, Queen of Hearts and Madness that really show the talent of this band and who because of everything I just stated have become my favorite all time band. You should really dive deep into this band, it's definitely worth it!

You need to listen to their cover of Joan Jett's cover of I Hate My Self For Loving You and Jefferson Airplanes Don't You Want Somebody To Love.

Welcome back to doing reactions, Liliac is a very good band, they are all siblings and I think the drummer just got married. I'm not completely up to date with them but I think they just finished touring. They have a strong catalog of covers and some very good originals like Sail Away. Staying on the sibling thing, I have another suggestion for you, The Warning, 3 sisters who play rock with an old school sound. Anything from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022 show will not disappoint you. Try Animosity, Disciple or Choke. I hope your bands new project is going well and look forward to exploring it. Liliac ( read it as lily-ac, which is Romanian for the word bat) has been around now for quite a few years actually. Madness is off of their newest album but to watch this band progress from their extremely early days until now is kinda mind blowing. You almost really need to start at the beginning . You mentioned Melody as reminding you of Dio, and I'm sure she would love that as she has always said Dio is her inspiration. I would recommend checking them out from the start with their covers of crazy train, holy diver etc and follow the progression. What they did early on for their ages, and for really all the older they are now, shows their amazing talent and that they will be a breath of fresh air with old school meets new school vibes. \m/

It looks like the other Fangs! Have you filled in on the band, all except one thing. The correct pronunciation of the band's name. It is pronounced Lilly-Ack. L i l i a c. It means Bat in their parents native Toung Romanian. All the kids were born and raised in the USA.

I saw them in Columbus, Ohio in late October and had a great time. I was on the front row for most of the show between middle sibling Melody (vocals and bass in their older videos) and oldest sibling Sam (guitar). The drummer and second-oldest sibling, Abigail, wasn't there as she took some time off to go get married and be a newlywed. A lovely young lady named Alexa Rae took Abigail's place and did a damn good job. Youngest sibling Justin (keytar/keyboards) and second-youngest sibling Ethan (bass and second guitar in their older videos) were solid but based on my position, they could be a bit hard to hear at times. There was an electric cellist with them, a guy whose name I didn't catch, but he was going hard the whole night too. Damn good show.

A great in-depth analysis although I'll admit that most of your technical terms went straight over my head . Liliac pronounced Lil ee ack are all brothers and sisters who have been doing this professionally since the youngest Justin the keyboardist was 7 he's now 15 . Up until this week they were fiercely independent but they have just signed with TKO . Melody bassist, flautist and lead singer has been compared to many raspy toned rock singers including DIO who is her hero and inspiration, but she is unique as you will find out by reacting to more of their playlist , they are adept at both original and tribute covers some of which are demonstrably better than the original examples being Whitestripes SEVEN NATION ARMY, Nirvana's SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT or Joan Jett's HATE MYSELF for loving you there are more but check these out ,see if you don't agree . Sam the guitarist is the eldest at 24 but has been playing at this level since he was 13 , being a guitarist yourself you would appreciate his mastery of his instrument by listening to their original song MARS from a live gig in Cumming Georgia with an introductory solo lasting 3+ minutes and a secondary solo in the middle, which by any measure is spectacular They call. their genre of music VAMP metal and because their father hails from Transylvania in Romania they named the band Liliac which means Bat in Romanian this is why their fans are known as Fangs and collectively as the Fang Gang .
