Nice work. allways so clean and effortless. One suggestion: try loosening all the bearing block bolts and then tighten them again by hand, skipping around like you would with a tire. Snug, firm, tight. I think she will ride a lot smoother
Amazing J. I really feel like you may invent something that changes the way many wood workers do this hobby and trade. Great video as well...as always.
Very nice jig, well done! If you plan to make that jig, add locktite to your material list. Use it on all setscrews and bolts. The last thing you want is a flying piece of hardware :)
There is subscription at the last seconds of the video: "I'm showing how to use and application (?? mabe = apply or install ? ) in the next video. Please stay tuned".
As always very entertaining and professional approach but I don’t see the advantage over what you had before? It does the same task but only in a different way.
2:13 - Try drilling the large hole FIRST, you then have a center point to drill the smaller hole. Takes the guesswork out of finding center. Otherwise interesting project.
I'm curious what its runout would read from one end to the other, with a dial indicator ? I think your on to something... Good Job. You've earned yourself a new subscriber !
@Chooper @victor hopper As J-Woodworking says, he measured the distance between the parallel rails. If the error in this is low, the distance of each rail from the plywood to which they are fixed should be the same along the length of the rails, within the tolerances of the plywood thickness, the diameter of the rails and the rail mounting fixtures. Since the device is attached to the tablesaw fence, the only additional errors would arise from the standard errors between fence, blade and table, which I expect to be low.
@@jason4547 I know that you asked about the measured deflection from end to end. My explanation describes how the measured deflection end to end should be no (or little) more than that of the table, fence and blade without the additional sliding fence. If the plywood used for the sliding fence is the same thickness at each end; and the rod mounting pillars are identical within or better than the tolerances of the table and existing fence; and assuming the roundness of the rods is better than these tolerances; because the rods are parallel the error end to end will be within the error end to end of the originally fitted fence from the blade. I believe that measurement of the end to end variation for the fence and blade compared with the sliding fence would bear this out. I hope you get it. Sorry I can't explain it any clearer.
I see most of the comments on here say that's a good idea. I'm wondering if you have made some wooden wheels for your car too because that would be as useful as this idea.
ок. fine/ but what reason//how use it// va bene //ma сhe lavoro sorry for my esperanto
Before I made it I anticipated that. This fence is concept one. There will be problems. And I keep solving them. Through the process I'll make progress. Sorry sir.
