My son and his wife were complaining that maintenance at their apartment complex has not adjusted the screen on the slider door so that have a inch gap at the opening letting bugs in. I looked up this video and now I look like a rockstar in my daughter in laws eyes and motivated my son into looking things up on RU-vid when something needs done and he doesn't know how to do it. Thank you so much for posting this. 57 year old woman here, husband works nights. I like to most of the maintenance so he doesn't has to. Our dog seen a squirrel on the deck and decided to 'bulldoze' into the screen door, not once but twice trying to get out. Popped the door totally out and went flying! got it back on track, but didn't want to slide hardly at all. Found your video and wa-laa! Fixed just like new! Excellent tutorial, would have never figured that those adjuster screws were spring loaded.

What happens if the lower wheel doesn't move . Does that mean the adjustment screw is stripped. ? I've tried and tried 😅. Well maybe it's time for a new door.
Most likely the screw or the roller assembly is stripped. You can buy new rollers and replace them if you can get it out. They make lots of different styles. If you send a few pictures I might be able to help you figure out how to get it out.
THANKS! it’s corrected! I got into trouble in the first place because one bottom screw was so high. The other 3 are fine. I screwed it down but then it locked up the screen (I have the same door as you). I adjusted it per your instructions but now that screw is still very high and I afraid it’ll fall out. Any suggestions? THANKS!
If your house has some settling the door opening may be out of square or out of plumb/level. You can measure the diagonal distance from corner to corner and compare the measurements to see if it is out of square. A perfectly square opening would be exact same measurements on the diagonals. It sounds like that could be the problem since you are having to adjust one screw significantly more than any other.
Part of the problem with my sliding screen door, is that I usually have to remove it from the track so that I can clean the track and the gritty debris that gets on the track and up into the door... and the wheels that ride the track usually need some sort of lubrication... I usually just use some silicone spray that I have handy, which normally does the job. Just did this the other day, and the door still isn't sliding properly, so I will probably remove it and check the wheels again. I suspect the wheels need adjust again as well... heck, I've done this before with the silicone spray, and the door would slide super perfect, but not this last time... not sure what is going on, but it can't be that complicated !
You might double check that the rollers are on the track. Sometimes the rollers can get beside the track and cause the sort of problem you’re describing.

I removed the screen from the tracks, cleaned everything good, sprayed the wheels and axle pins with silicone spray... then retracted all the wheels so they would spring back into the frame... put the screen back... the top wheels just roll inside the track... the bottom wheels sit centered on the raised rail... adjusted the screws so that the wheels would raise up & and out a bit. The adjustment screws are on top and bottom of the side inside toward the house... if you keep turning the screws they will cycle back to the beginning... easy to tell when the screen is outside the tracks, but kind of hidden from view once inside the tracks. Works now as it should ! Thanks !
