Regardless of getting the ball - ground a player with a slide and it’s reckless play - it’s an auto 10min yellow. Even if ball first, and unintentional. Simple.

I'm confused about so many interpretations of rules regarding danger... 🙈 In another video you say that smashing the ball baseball style is not inherently dangerous despite admitting a high likelihood of it going wrong rather than right and yet here, it's better safe than lucky?

Because the FIH briefing has codified it as such. I don’t make the rules, I just make sure y’all all them properly. 😊

I'm totally not agree with the new hockey rules its all advantage for attackers pity for defenders.. if the rules say sliding is dangerous how abt sliding deflect for goal when the defender to tackle the ball it consider dangerous too .. if the this all rules for safety purpose to all players how abt penalty corner flick its more dangerous to 4 players inside the goal post..

Couldn't disagree more, as in many situations attackers who slide into defenders while trying to deflect the ball for goal will be penalised the same way-just as you point out. When it comes to drag flicks, if 4 defenders are standing inside the goal posts trying to stop the ball on the line, that's not only a terrible tactical choice but they're causing danger for themselves trying to act as goalkeepers without the protection or the privileges to use their bodies. Hockey as a sport doesn't care if you don't agree. This is the vast consensus view, the international standards of interpretation, and it's our job to get on that page.
