LOL - Elysia and I seem to be ordering from Etsy often. All my agents know when there is either Starbase activity scheduled for the day I wear rocket earrings or launches for anything NSF covers. Yes, I'm a mega NERD, but Elysia has more earrings than I, currently. So enjoy her exciting weekly update reports. She's fantastic!

Wondering about martime law. Once SpaceX drops off the landing drone, it's no longer "manned" as is required by martime law to avoid being "salvaged". From what I understand, someone could come along and occupy it as an unmanned salvage.

I just saw a video explaining how what you put in the thumbnail is anything but an actual image of a black hole, this is the worst type of clickbait.
@ale131296
@ale131296 2 месяца назад
I don't even know how to reply to this comment because: 1. it's not clickbait, that's literally what the Event Horizon Telescope team have released as part of the two different papers investigating M87* and Sgr A* 2. we already explain in the video that this is not even data captured in visible light but it is a representation of that data and 3. Using THAT representation of the data in the thumbnail is in no way anything wrong, like... really? We can't even use that now? The word "clickbait" is thrown around so easily for things that are literally not clickbait (and oftentimes, it is not thrown around for things that DO fit into the definition of clickbait). We explain it in the video, we talk about it in the video. Clickbait would be NOT to explain it, NOT to talk about it in the video. Just because it piques the curiosity of the viewer it doesn't mean it is clickbait.
@JonathanSchrock
@JonathanSchrock 2 месяца назад
As soon as I saw that image, I knew it was not directly from a telescope, and was skeptical of it's legitimacy at all. When I looked into it, I was unsurprised to find that it's a composite image, and feared people would think it's a real photo. I was then, of course, very relieved that NSF explained this fact, although I'm sure many won't catch it. I think calling it clickbait is a bit harsh, but I can only imagine the misinformation that's probably elsewhere on the internet.
