50 really was tryna make G-Unit south a big deal back then...he got a lot of love for southern artists (Shawty Lo, Young Buck, Lil Scrappy). It's a shame Buck couldn't get G-unit South (Cashville Records) off the ground after 50 left him in charge.
Bass Heavy Is Very Underrated As A Producer. 🔥 One Of My Favorite Tracks That He Produced Was "Soulja Down" With Trenitty (Rest In Heaven To Trenitty). 💯 SHOUTOUT TO NEW ORLEANS. 💯
@@RudolphManor Indeed, that T-Bo Tha Firecracker 🧨 on there “ I’m Gonna Tell You Hater’s Like One More Time “ and that Curren$y “ That Ain’t Right “ 🔥!!!
2 shout outs make sense now. When Slim shouted out 50 on U Hear Dat & The Game gave Slim a shout-out on a song after he passed. Thanks to this interview
I remember I was with some of my homies somewhere in Atlanta in 2002 & while we was chilling Soulja Slim passed by in a BMW & he was bumping Wangsta by 50cent in the car & he was high asf lol. He was that dude & riding around by himself to. Real one definitely
Great interview!!! Actually B.G. fist solo album after he left cash money was called Livin Legend. And yep he right u start your own label as an independent artist and be your own boss and get a distribution deal, that's where Koch came in at.
@@EllionTy Facts Everybody Had A Priority Deal Back In The 90s Even Rocafella Released “The Reasonable Doubt” On Priority Before They Got The Def Jam Deal
Really is the saddest story of a person who were literally on the brink of greatness "to the world." The city knew it, but it was about to be his moment.
Juvie nem stopped rocking with Buck tho after he left for G-Unit.. I remember the video and Skip was going in on Buck & still to this day Juvie can't stand Buck same with Turk
Soulja slim had no more street credibility than Young buck. Gunit would've really been a force in the south with Slim. BG was free agent too he would've got down
@@tsusurflawyer2432 I'ma 80s Baby Raised I'm the 90s out New Orleans you Damm right Slim was had more street cred than Buck that ain't no discussion I been knew P had 50 & paid for 50 first tour that ain't no secret I also know Slim wanted to work with Jay Z which it's a video of Slim doing a radio interview and get asked from New York who would he like to Get Down With.. Slim say I Don't want to work with Nobody but the Head Dog Jigga RU-vid Soulja Slim speaks on Jay-Z
I have an old album saved on my computer from a mixtape I had that has a raw track of Slow Motion. It was unedited and not mastered. It's just Slim on the track with the verse, hook and ablibs.
Bro u more than a story, good seeing ya 2022, So is that u on the Years Later Intro Your Now In The Mind Of A Real Nigga. That there is Classic Material seriously never talked about..
All of 50 artist were lazy or unloyal Soulja slim had the work ethic and would've created his own buzz. And made 50 job easier. N slim was street certified and had the south (unlike young buck)
I feel bad for this guy right here because his opportunity was so so so so close doe and his body language and his facial expression can just tell it all doe 💯💯💯
Now it seems like 50 was the soulja slim of NY. No wonder he went after slim he saw the gangsta and talent in slim at the same time. 50 respect gangstas even bangem smurf said that about 50
Soulja slim had a lot of potential I remember when that he started off when I first heard of him on the radio 9:00 wraps with your boy wild Wayne and he used to shut it down R I P Soulja slim you was our Tupac OF New Orleans but the streets stole you from us 🙏
That how 50 feel back and discover nut tha kid he was already discovering these rappers raw raw talent ain’t fucking with that booth a place where they cook gumbo at
At that time I think it was young buck that was pushing it and then 2003 50 Cent drop Get Rich or Die Trying and that would’ve made Slim even more hotter
BIG SHOUT OUT TO MAGNOLIA AKA SOULJA SLIM 🙏🏿 🪖🔥 💯 FORM THE 305 MIAMI DADE COUNTY MUCH RESPECT AND MUCH LOVE TO THE N.O.⚜️⚜️⚜️504 MAGNOLIA PROJECTS 3 WARD
At the time g-unit was smoking hot like no limit was. Everything g-unit put out was gold an platinum. So business wise it would of worked slim an g-unit would of cashed out. An it would of put slim in a bigger audience worldwide where everyone in the world would know slim an his brand would of exploded. Of course g-unit fell off that mean slim would of did his own thing but being with no limit then g-unit would of set him up for greatness on his own. C-murder was having talks with g-unit also, C-murder an 50 cent did a song together called you ain't crazy. You could see C-murder wearing g-unit clothes in a video when he was out on bond for his murder case. 50 cent was talking to C-murder over the phone on g-unit radio on DJ whoo kid show. So they definitely all was in talks. G-unit was so hot at the time they could sign anybody an they would sell. So why wouldn't 50 cent sign some real seasoned veteran rappers an real street niggaz on his label. But 50 cent an g-unit came with to much trouble an beefs also how would that of turned out. Slim an C some real street dudes an they gonna ride with who they riding with. It wasnt meant to be. Does kind of seem like they knew slim was going to blow up an they stopped it from happening. Was it real beef that got slim hit or someone knew slim was about to blow up 🤔? I know my answer but watching this video the timing of all this is just spooky
Damn Slim would of been on top today, he was about to sign with G-Unit and dating Macy Gray. I wish he would of laid low till everything popped off, he would of been on another level right up there with the Lil Waynes and Jay Z's. Damn, RIP Slim!
So that's why Game rapped about seeing Soulja Slim getting shot on MTV news! I always wondered where that came from like I didn't even know he knew anything bout Slim.
You need to do an interview with Daniel I'm I'm sure he has way more stories because slim use to shout him out on many songs do an interview with Daniel
Basically what Koch was doing is what J. Prince, Suge, JD & Irv Gotti were trying to do until Jay Z spilled the beans. They were planning to build a black distribution company.
Nah. Koch was a business opportunity for a lot of rappers but different than the other labels. They put out rapper solo albums that weren’t signing deals with other major labels. It was viewed as a lower budget label than the majors, but the only label willing to cut album deals with certain solo rap artists they thought could have more commercial success. they didn’t really invest in rappers careers just basically put out single albums. That’s why Flip said on From The South “These rappers finally get some fame and think they got it locked After your album flop, you gon be on Koch.”
Koch was the man, he gave alot of rappers another option especially when the major record labels were getting over on dudes. Signing with Koch gave you the opportunity to keep your masters and that's huge.
Seeing how much of a backstabber 50 has proven to be over the years.. Combined with slim arrogance and street nature..man this hook up would've probably turned into some ugly..
RU-vid Soulja Slim speak on Jay-Z In the interview Slim get asked who from New York he would like to get down with? Slim say I Don't want to get down with Nobody else but the Head Dog Jigga(Jay-Z)
I fucc with Slim heavy but I don't think the g-unit deal would've worked first he fell out with No limit over money then he fell out with Koch over money Slim was a GREAT rapper but not a GREAT business man.
