Slim Whitman - Ghost Riders in the Sky 

That's my father Norm Ray to the left of Slim Whitman, starting at 0:50......one of the greatest horn players on the planet. I literally grew up in this studio, back stage......I even got to do a cold opening for the show with country legend Tom T Hall. I miss this show, Nashville Now, it was part of my childhood and I got to meet so many people through this show, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Goege Jones, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Johnny Paycheck, Willie Nelson, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Don Knotts.....I even got to shake hands with TWO presidents on this show, George Bush and Bill Clinton. I'm happy I found this clip. It brings back a lot of wonderful memories

Love this song, I have heard it done by quite a number of singers, even by a member of a local Country Band. Slim Whitman could really hit the high notes. Rest in Peace Slim Whitman.

Came across Mr. Whitman by mistake while looking for songs from Fallout New Vagas. I became a mager fan. On an unrelated note this song suits John and Arthur from red dead redemption. Rest in peace to a great old school country singer.

Patricia, TNN stands for The Nashville Network, a pretty cool cable TV network that was another casualty of corporate greed. It no longer exists and I once heard that much of the video library was accidentally destroyed. I just happened to set my VCR and tape some of these as they happened. I'll convert and upload more when I can. No chance of a DVD release.

Fat guy at the start heard 'slim' and he went catatonic

his voice peters out when he goes into his falstetto range....He was OKAY but I prefer the lower voices like Mary Robbins and Johnny Cash singing this classic....I Never have to hear this again, once was more than enough.
