One really cool detail in The ballad of Jane Doe that I missed the first couple watches was the angel wings. Right before and after she flies her shadow has large Angel wings. So Cool! Definitely would've missed it if it weren't for this more quality version :)
Okay this is probably a very obvious thing but I just realized at 1:31:53 while Karnak is dying he says the fortunes he read before and the last thing he says before dying is "Make sure to ride the Cyclone." And at the start of the show he says "I even suggested they ride the Cyclone." So i think the last thing he says before he dies is his last fortune told which is him suggesting the six children to ride the Cyclone (excuse my terrible english had a stroke trying to explain this)
“I hope I wiped my browser history clean” “For it is Christmas. Shall we hang ourselves?” “It was my cousins BORTHDAY in my country it is sacred tradition to take drink on BORTHDAY” “WHAT YOU REALLY NEED IS A FOTHERMUCKING HERO!” “OH SWEET JESUS CHRIST ON A BIKE!!” “Yeah and then I rode that rollercoaster…. Thanks…” “Fornication Under Consent of the King” “The armrest to your left is yours the one to your right is your neighbors if you believe both armrests are yours exclusively. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM”
OKAY THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WATCHING RTC (my school is doing it for our fall musical, so I decided to watch it. Very nice graphics!) AND HERE IS SOME STUFF I NOTICED 1: When Constance is getting introduced before her song, a recorder plays in the background. She also has a recorder solo. I think this is because a recorder is the instrument a child first learns (most of the time), and since Constance's song is very child-like, a recorder is played in her background, and she has a recorder solo. 2: While this is my first time watching Ride the Cyclone, I know there is a lot of confusion about Jane Doe's character (I'm a massive musical theatre nerd). Karnak says there were rumors about a girl who joined late, which makes sense. If the rumors are right, it makes sense as to why Jane's uniform is different from the other kid's. 3: In the beginning, when Ocean asks Karnak, "What is this, like a game?", I think it's the reason one of the final numbers is called It's Not A Game. 4: Also in the beginning, when Ocean says her and Constance are going to trade, I find it cool that Constance was last kid to perform. 5: Again, I also know there's a lot of speculation about what happens to the kids after the show ends, since they enter the same light Jane/Penny goes through. I think there could be two real endings: either the 5 kids become ghosts with Jane/Penny and haunt the fairgrounds together, or they all go back to life together and have a strange liking to the Fall Fair, especially the Cyclone rollercoaster. I think the first one makes most sense since Ricky conceded. 6: Following my last thing (number 5, first ending), if the kids were to become ghosts, I think there would be 7 members then, not 6. I think this is because Penny Lamb and Jane are two different people. I've seen comments about Penny Lamb being another character from something called Legoland (saw it's apart of this triliology, so I know now). I think that Penny would be her own person and Jane would be her own as well. 7: The scene where Karnak dies is so well played. His whole character is very well executed. It's a real guy in there, so him being able to do those breaking movements (especially since he's probably controlling the costume from behind!) is amazing. 8: THE BELTS. OMG THE BELTS. THEY'RE AMAZING, ESPECIALLY THE ONES IN NOEL'S LAMENT, SPACE AGE BACHELOR MAN, AND THE BALLAD OF JANE DOE. IT'S SO GOOD. 9: I find Ocean's song, What The World Needs, a very good song. Not only is it catchy, but it really shows us her character in the beginning. She doesn't really know the other choir characters, and only cares about herself. It really helps her character development. 10: Mischa's (idk if I spelled that right) life and character is so sad, yet he acts so chill about it. He lost his mother, his adoptive parents hated him, the choir members probably didn't like him because of his personality, and when he finally had something good, his Talia, he dies on the Cyclone. Yet, despite everything, he still says his life was awesome. I don't think Mischa really cared if he went back or not, because I think he knew he would've continued living the same life he always had. 11: Talia is such a beautiful song. The visuals, the singing, the choreo and costumes, everything is perfect. It's very sad that Mischa was probably being catfished. 12: Ricky's little monologue about accidents is very interesting. Since Ricky never had the chance to speak, he always had the chance to think. And probably read a lot of scientific things. It gives depth to his character. I'll probably add more when I watch this again, which I probably will, it's very good! :)
It's so cool that your school is doing RTC, I'm literally so jealous!! These are all awesome little details, I didn't think about some of these before, so thank you for pointing them out! :]
I think the kids just died, you know? And Penny, is no longer Penny, because the footage did not line up with Penny’s story. The only way we’ll know is when the 3rd comes out. I suspect if my theory is true it will focus on Ezra. If not, maybe Penny again, maybe both.
Being the only gay man in a small rural highschool is kind of like having a laptop in the stone age. I mean, sure, you can have one. But there's nowhere to plug it in
The quality on this is absolutely top tier, i love this musical sm after watching it only once 😭 but I’m curious, why are reuploadings of musical performances called “Slime tutorials”? Is it just a meme or is there an actual reason?
there are a series of slime tutorials based on all sorts of musicals. Not everyone can purchase slime from the store, so a lot of times you have to make it at home. But you can get in all sorts of trouble if you make slime incorrectly
in addition, sometimes slime tutorials get taken down because they get too popular so it can be hard to find high quality ones. so its best to limit likes and keep things more low key
Uranium Suite is on spotify, Fall fair isn't. This is because they're with different casts. For example, in this cast, Gus Halper plays Mischa Bachinski, but in the cast of which the songs are recorded and put on spotify, Chaz Duffy plays Mischa Bachinski. Ocean, Noel, Jane, and Constance have the same actor in the cast recording but for some reason Gus and Alex (Ricky) were replaced :( bit basically each cast has their own intro song, and in this cast, the 2016 cast, it's fall fair, but in the official cast recording (the one on spotify), its uranium suite. Basically fall fairs replacement. Fall fair is on spotify as a podcast, though!
