NOTE: As of December 2022, SlimeVR now works with standalone Quest 2 or Quest Pro. Please See this tutorial by @TheMysticle : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IbD9YwQ1wds.html
This was a really helpful overview of what this project would entail and what skills I would need to have/learn in order to complete it--thanks! I didn't even know what slimevr was before I clicked out of curiosity, but now I'll definitely be considering this option. Being able to wrap up in a blanket is pretty appealing!
Ah yes! I remember seeing and commenting on the webcam video and I am glad to see that you are carrying on the hard work and good production quality, keep doing what you do.
Cool! Been looking into diy vr for a while now, and your video was very informative and concise without feeling like an ad. The soldering terms bit was 👌
If I could like this video a billion times, I would, this was extremely helpful thank you so so so much, I've watched a ton of videos and none were as great as yours
Awesome tutorial! Just checking sum stuff out about full body and stumbled across this vid, I'll def be coming back again if I end up purchasing these!
I had just ordered 5 slimes trackers and was shocked to find out they would not ship until next year. The only thing I can think of is that they only make them when someone orders them and need the time for that. I would think it would make more sense to make them first then sell them but maybe it is more complicated then that.
Hi, I am not affiliated with SlimeVR but I believe the reason for the backup is that they are still fulfilling old orders. You can follow their production progress with their CrowdSupply posts!
4:33 fun fact5: slime vr does not require a pc. it CAN work on quest standalone however absolutely no quest standalone games support slime vr so dont buy it for quest standalone. but yes they do work with quest.

Nice tutorial and very clear, but now the question I have, what is SlimVR used for? All the tutorial show a result of one looking at him/herself moving , is that only for a kind of social app in VR . What would be the use in games ? And what advantages could be gained using Slime VR in games?
Good question! SlimeVR or Full Body Tracking "FBT" in general enriches social games or add new features to certain games. Though there isn't necessarily a competitive advantage, it allows the user to be more expressive or try new things in VR. For example, in games such as Blade and Sorcery, with FBT you could kick enemies with your legs instead of traditional sword-only combat. There are also a lot of dancers that teach lessons or have dance battles in VR thanks to FBT!
What specific files did you use for your case? I'm planning to build it with the parts you listed, but it doesn't look like the hyperion will support the two boards that come with your IMU, and I'm not sure what files to print as I've never 3D printed before
If you'd never printed before I'd recommend using alternative case options. For example, my first cases were made from mini tupperware containers, and my second cases were plastic soap boxes from target!
Hello! Thanks so much for making this video but I have a question. I used the phone method with slime for a tiny bit and I noticed that sometimes when doing like a handstand that I would have my feet together and legs fully extended but the the tracking would show my legs in VRchat bent and feet apart so I was wondering if you saw a similar affect in your experience or is it probably just a phone thing? Thank you!
Hi! This sounds like a calibration issue from within VRChat. Sometimes this will happen if your proportions don't exactly match your avatar's proportions. If you don't believe this to be the issue, then I would try adjusting your height/playing with some of the calibration settings in-game, such as "Measure Avatar by Arm Span." Good luck!
Depends on what you buy. On the crowdsupply, there are options to buy completed sets which require no soldering. You can also buy a DIY kit which requires soldering.
@@chimericcurios Is there a video that you could send a link to to describe this process? I'm just about to buy my own trackers, but I wanna know how to set them up once they get here
@@t3rrablox582 Once you download the slime server it walks you through it! Even though you don't have your trackers yet, you can still check it out. It's been recently updated so I don't have any up-to-date videos.
I looked back on the slime website today and saw that there were fully built trackers being sold really cheap, if I want to skip the process of building would that be a good idea to go for it?
I know its been a month but if you don't wanna deal with the hassle of soldering, putting the code on the board, worried you might mess up. then get the pre-built ones or just use phones.
I would recommend getting the prebuilt slimes from the site if you don't need them urgently. If you need a solution right now, I would recommend HaritoraX
hey, im having trabbels about where i can buyThe" slime vr "or buy the parts for slime vr ... and i dont find it anywhere can someone help? i will be happy
