In today's video, I will be showing you how you can have access to the amazing tracking that SlimeVR gives you by using nothing but your old phones. If you're like me you have a bunch of your older phones lying around that you just never got rid of. You can use these phones to emulate SlimeVR trackers and therefore have access to Full Body Tracking in VR right now! Using anything from an Oculus Quest running SteamVR to a Valve Index. This is also an effective way to know if someone calls you while you're in VR. Imagine seeing someone in vrchat: "I'll be right back guys, my waist tracker is ringing" and proceeding to unstrap their crotch, lift it to their head and start talking to it 😂 You can also tell which sidechick is calling, based on which burner pho- I mean limb tracker vibrates.

I'll be trying this for sure! It's amazing how easy it seems to be now too! I have a particular setup, where my gaming PC is on the second floor office, and my play space is on the first floor living room. So everything needs to be wireless. I will most likely be buying SlimeVR, but this will allow me to play around now, rather than later! Great vid! I love your community bud!

You actually need just 2 straps for the phones in the middle of your leg. The one on your waist can be either sit confortably in a pochette or halfway in your pants, while the ones in your ankles can be easily put inside long socks. It's werid but what can you say it's free and just works

@@wizzie04 It will not work as it seems that SlimeVR kinda freaks out a bit, since it cant assume your kneeposition (form some reason) and ends up just being stuck in place. Though, just having chest and hip/waist tracking does make the VRchat experience much more fun. But yeah, 5 phones/trackers is pretty much required until someone figures out a way to assume kneeposition by calculating distance between feet and hip (will be janky AF but might be better than just sinking through the floor)

this is amazing. im using 3 phones (1+7pro, galaxy s9, moto z) and getting really good results. i bought the quest 2 yesterday and have watched a few dozen of your videos since then trying to get a decent full body experience without returning the quest 2 for a different system. thanks a lot for these videos!!!!

@@gamingreacts8787 very good honestly! i upgraded to 5 phones, the ONLY issue ive had is that one phone is an iphone and it disconnects from oWoTracker every 1 hour or so, so i have to leave vrchat, close slime, open it again, and re-pair that one. thankfully the other 4 phones (all android) all automatically re-pair everytime so its just the iphone that i have to pair.

haha i had the same Samsung mini except white, i can't remember for sure but I think they support USB-OTG so you can use a mouse or keyboard to still use the phone, its definitely possible on newer phones with broken digitizers though.

Thank you so much for the video!!! While it works, there are a few annoying issues... Works pretty nicely even with 3 phones (there's no knee though, so 5 really is the minimum for real fbt), although when using IPhones there are some connection issues that I only know how to fix restarting the PC. Also the drifting aaaagh it's so annoying but it's easily fixed by pressing the "restart button" (and waiting the timer in deafult body position) in the slimevr software when it gets noticeble (usually 5-10 minutes).

If your phone tends to disconnect from slimevr, close all instances of slimevr then close out of owotrack in your IPhone. Afterwards open back slimevr server then open up owotrack than connect (It should work).

This video is very old but for anyone with a phone like he is demonstrating that has a keyboard crash issue (and thus cannot input wifi password) I have two solutions: Option 1 requires bluetooth functionality (older devices may not have this, in such case see option 2) and a bluetooth keyboard. -Bluetooth keyboards are extremely cheap now, any place that sells tablet accessories will also sell these. Connect keyboard to device and it should bypass the crash issue with ease (I did this for a friend twice, once for the crash issue and once because the bottom half of the screen was cracked and inaccessible. Both phones were ancient.) Option 2 requires an OTG cable (make sure it has the same hookup as the phone you're using) and a regular USB keyboard. Both of these are cheap and common anywhere pc and phone accessories are sold. This too bypasses the crashing issue the same as option 1 and works on a heckuva lot of devices. An alternative to the otg cable that may work for a few people if you have/can get an old tablet folio with a built-in wired keyboard you can use that, but make sure the cable is the same as your phone's port or you'll have to get an adapter too and that's a whole other headache. Additionally, if you have a damaged/busted or otherwise now unresponsive-to-touch touchscreen this can be bypassed with Option 2 as well, by using a USB wired mouse instead of a keyboard. It even works on very old android devices. Hope this helps someone!

The battery life being 2-3 hours on a phone should be fine if you're using the Quest 2 or the Pico 4 for wireless pcvr, as that's roughly how long their battery life is anyway. This is a very interesting video and I will probably try it out for myself, as I myself have a few old android phones lying around that I don't use.

Would it be possible to do this with smart watches? I mean they already have straps. Some use just standard watchspring bars so you could attach straps of any length as long as they were sized correctly and all. And smartwatches even just a generation old tend to sell for next to nothing used.

I ordered my trackers but they are not shipping until December, I have considered doing this for a while but cannot wait for my trackers, definitely trying it. It would have been good to mention these are selfed tracked so they can be hidden as they do not get tracked by external sensors. For fun I am also going to use my jailbroken PSVita as a tracker (probably with an android emulator but I may compile it if it's possible)

now that quest 3 is tracking the upper body well and able to do simulated FBT through Virtual Desktop....could you use two phones on your feet with this app combined with the new Quest 3 IOBT together?

Helloo there! I really wanted to try this out and I’ve completed all the steps unfortunately trying to run the run.bat didn’t work? I did everything I was supposed to and thought maybe I skipped a set or something but I didn’t when i press it something pops up but quickly goes away and once I do manage to pull what came up it’s just a blank black screen with a blinking thing that looks like a underscore

Someone used switch controllers, I believe you can use whatever device that has a gyroscope sensor in it. I kinda wanna see if I can use ps DualShock4 controllers because they also have gyro sensors in them

No, because that would require backwards communication from your PC to your phone of an input from the game which is completely unsupported and would require third-party development of another app

The OwO Track discord states that the phone is required to have a Gyroscope sensor in order to work, which the Galaxy mini you had doesn't have. IDK how you got it to work, but both my Huawei P9 lite 2017s (which don't have that either) don't work (tried this when i was attempting to use VSmartTracker).

good for me i have 3 phones whit the oldest one being 5 years old that i can use. for now its duck tape to hold xD alrigth i tryed it, got my phones connected did everything you told me to and the headset told me i had trackers on but they would not move even tho the program told me i where moving :/

well great in all...but would that cause issues with wifi signals sending data to your pc if a few starting loosing packets ??? wifi is not perfect than wire version that would be flawless tracking by having each phone connected to pc by have wires gonna over your body while zip tie all together by your feet is like your tether to your computer

This looks great! But it's only 3DoF tracking. I'm pretty sure recent phones can handle 6DoF, since many AR apps have positional tracking. Besides, inside-out tracking is a combination of IMUs and cameras, which is all inside a smartphone. Anyway, I'll try this out! Thanks for showing this!

I don’t think you realize how difficult it would be to take the camera data from a phone and pipe it into a computer keeping a three-dimensional location of the tracker at all times without having it parented to a headset, this also means that the selection of phones you would have would be much more expensive as they would need to support some advanced augmented reality, software, and have cameras with a high enough quality to keep positional consistency. TLDR It’s not viable

I got this working on a Samsung Galaxy S7 (just one phone for a waist tracker) for about 5 seconds. It looked like a Vive tracker in Steam VR. But then it was gone, and I can't get it back. Slime VR server seems to be tracking it perfectly, but in Steam VR it just ends up interfering with the left controller. Any suggestions?

Never mind. I just joined the owoTrack Discord, and they've got a server that works for just waist tracking.

i know you need the computer to set the slimeVR trackers but can you still play standalone quest vr and still have fullbody?

You can install custom rom on the galaxy s mini, I did it on my old galaxy s3 and it's actually run faster

it doesnt quite work for me, or its only the fact that i have 1 phone and wanted to try with 1 if it worked and as it turned out, it didnt, why? because phone dont have the 6 DOF thingy

once the trackers get in vrc they all show up above my avi, ive labled them to legs and waiste and it stays above me. help lol

when i have my phone connected to owo track it does say it is connected on both my phone and owo track itself but on the slime vr server they all say disconnected and i am stumped idk how to fix help!
