I have asked Slinger if they are shipping out the new model or the older model when you purchase a new model from the website. Some of you said you have asked and are not getting answers. I asked, again, and told them people want to know and that if they don't reply, I will just have to tell my followers that Slinger is not replying, which doesn't look so good. Always keeping it real with you guys! Hopefully they are transparent about the inventory they are selling. Maybe you can specifically request the new bag when ordering and tell them to cancel if it's the older bag. There mus tbe a way because I got mine through a replacement, as the video explains.

Thanks. Dunlop in Europe tells me that they know nothing about the new model. It’s kind of weird and disappointing. Please, let us know what you figure out. Kind regards.

I put a stack of pool noodles behind the Velcro area where the balls sit fixed the problem but will use a little less balls.

Great video! Did you ever hear anything back from Slinger? I had heard a lot of really great things about their customer service, but a little discouraging with how difficult they've been able to reach for this clarification.

I have ocassionally needed to push a bit in emails to get answers but I ultimately did. I think some of the people are just employees and these types of questions are a litle out there and unexpected so it's possible someone might now know what to do with these questions but I think they do need to be better about this kind of thing. But yes, I thought I pinned a comment here about how Slinger in America said that all the American sales will be with the updated bag but that they can't speak for the other countries as they have their own inventory.

Nice vid brother, I was weighing up to get a slinger but hated the top MPH. Ended up finding a cheap secondhand 🦞 the other day and I couldn’t be more stoked. Hope your new slinger bag keeps feeding balls for years to come

Great review. My old slinger bag broke. It was making grinding noises and wouldn't turn on. Customer service, Tania, who knows if that's her real name, at first was very fast to respond and tells me it must be the charger then when I sent her the video showing how the machine doesn't turn on and the machine makes grinding noises, she ghosted me. I threaten lawsuit and they finally got back to me and eventually gave me a new replacement bag. I agree with your assessment totally with the old vs. new comments. however, my new slinger bag, after less than 4 months, won't hold charge for more than 40 minutes. They sent me their battery guidelines about how battery should be taken care of etc, implying that maybe I did something wrong. I had my old slinger bag for a year and it would operate over 2 hours no problem. This new machine clearly came with a bad battery. Instead of keep fighting a company that doesn't pick up their phone no matter what department you call, I decided to look to buy a battery for $60 - its all sold out! If a machine can work for 3.5 hours with one charge per their ad, why would anyone need to buy more batteries? The reason it is sold out its because these new bags, at least mine, came with bad batteries. Its a decent bag but an awful company.

Aww man I'm really sorry to hear this. Maybe they think you're scamming them but they should have a lot thorough method of determining such things. Annoying coincidence happens often sometimes. I'd try messaging again trying to be nice. Maybe they don't deserve that but sometimes people ignore stuff. Try messaging from another email with a different tone. Might get you somewhere. I wish you luck and hope you can enjoy the bag again. Sorry for your trouble.

Not sure how I could be scamming them. I was nice about it the whole time until they ghosted me, I said I will take legal means then they responded. I wasn't rude or anything. just the facts. From the delivery of my slingers, they can see my address and I don't live in the hood. The price of these slingers are reasonable. That's not the issue. Its the principle of the matter. If a product you sell is faulty, you should own up to it vs trying to dodge your customer. As the old saying goes, For every one unsatisfied customer, you lose 7 potential customers. With social media, you lose even more. Its silly. Customer acquisition cost for any business is a lot. They spend a ton of money marketing their product yet they don't take care of their customers. Ever wonder why Costco is so popular? Customer service.

I bought this machine and was immediately disappointed. The topspin is insane. The ONLY way it works (for me) is if I have it on my side of the net, speed at almost zero. Even then it delivers sad shots that are most likely messing with my timing. If you crank up the speed, even a little the topspin goes nuts. I've played against players with heavy topspin but this puts them all to shame. Granted I'm not playing Federer or Nadal but then again who is??? I asked to return it and they want nothing to do with me. As for something good to say about it, it does deliver a good cardio workout if you increase the feed rate but I'm not sure that's work $900 at least not to me. I was expecting a tennis ball machine and this is NOT that.

Hi there, I am wondering how easy the slingbag and/or slampack is to take flying, aka as extra sports baggage checked in. Any issues, do or donts, experience, advice etc.............

You mean like check in as in airplane luggage? Dang I have no idea haha but it is pretty luggage like. I'm sure they will take it if you pay for it and it's definitely more designed for that kind of travel than any other ball machine I can think of. It really might be confused for luggage bag if you didn't know what it was.

I asked them before ordering and they said it would be the new one, but they sent the old one. Now I need to decide whether I am keeping it or sending it back. I don't care about the handles, but if there are mechanical improvements I want to know what they are. Thoughts?

Dang they should honor that. Hold them to their word make them replace it. The new one feeds more reliably and it's a bit more portable as well. Definitely a good update. I don't want the old one personally. Would get stuck a lot

The balls it launches when you position it on the same side as the net does not simulate an opponent's ground strokes. If slinger ever adds a second wheel so you can adjust the top spin i will be interested.

It's just a ball feeder. I think people overrate the importance of the ball being like a real ball because in a coaching situation they never criticize hand fed bells from the same side. So what you're saying is true but I think it matters only as much as you think it does. You can get other machines with two but they're much more expensive, of course. Maybe nisplay will be the best option very soon.

I blow it off of the front ocassionally but I've never noticed the need to clean it from the inside. I have not actually noticed it really builds up inside the bag.

THANK YOU! I've made a couple of posts on IG about this and people all said, "that's common for all ball machines" Well it shouldn't be, it's clearly a design flaw. How did you modify your old one to help with the problem?

Agreed that is frustrating. If you sell a thing, it should do what it's built to do. Maybe it's cheaper than most but it's still like 700 dollars. Hmm. What I did was create a ramp around each corner so that the balls couldn't build up and stack on themselves as easily. Basically fixed it but would still happen occasionally. Still does on the updated one. Come to think of it my modified one might have fed more consistently. You just got to be clever. You can use cardboard and wedge it. I used flexible cutting boards and duct tape. Both worked well.

Do you know if the new slinger bag is available in Canada? I looked at the pictures and watched the video on their website. It looks like it’s the old version of the bag?

@@time410s it’s the ca. I emailed slinger and they told me they would ship the new one with the handles. Slinger also sent me a picture of the one with handles. I believe it is the same as yours unless they made another version with the two handles?

Fits in my sedan. Can't guarantee it would yours. I drive a model 3 if that helps.

I ordered my slinger on 5/23 and received it yesterday 5/29. I actually didn’t know there was an update when I ordered , but after watching this video I can confirm I received the new version. Busy family weekend, excited to take it out and hit some balls the next couple of days.

I don't recall a racket bag but I think the new one does have a racket pouch still? Wow maybe they got rid of that. I honestly never used it anyway haha, that what you mean? My new one might not have it and I never noticed. I reuse lightly used balls and kind of cycle them in.

Yes they say in America they definitely are. The other markets you need to contact them in that market. Tney all operate a little different.

It seems slinger isn't super clear about this. Going to email them now about this. I will double check with slinger that they are only selling the newest version of the bag. I will also ask if they are making this really clear on their website or not that this bag is updated or changed. I think they are hesitant maybe to make their old bags look bad or something but I'll try to find out what I can and report back.

I could do an update video! It's been working pretty much as good as new. I did once hit the face of it very hard with a forehand and the speaker beeps a little funny now. Otherwise, no problems! I also really enjoy these pressureless balls I keep in these now instead of recycling old cans that go super dead so soon.

They are idiots they needed to add a lower motor and wheel so the ball doesn’t have as much topspin. Great video.

Interesting, a lower motor... I'm trying to imagine how that might help. Lower in what way? Relative to something else in the chain of events that launch the ball?

@@time410s think of a baseball throwing machine. It uses two motors top and bottom. The lower motor you could vary the speeds so instead of increasing the spin it would throw the ball further without excess spin. If I buy one I’ll modify it. Basically getting rid of the lower metal guide and having a second motor and wheel there w speed variability so spin can be altered and distance more realistically.

Oh well that's adding a whole other motor and doing that at this pricepoint probably isn't happening. I think this design is just a compromise/best case scenario of a single motor design.

Ha, yes. There's a story but I'll make it very short. An injury left to some time off on one arm and for fun, long-haired-dude decided to develop a forehand on the non-dominant side. For legal reasons, I am not allowed to disclose or confirm which arm is the dominant 😂

He's not. Inspired me to develop the opposite hand a little more. It's crazy how little the other hand does compared to the dominant on a daily basis. Eating, brushing teeth, etc. I think the dominant is so much better partly because of all the little things. It stays sharp.

I think the new generation of them resolved this issue. It plagued my experience sometimes because it might jam for a few seconds or maybe 15 and it still might fire a ball out but maybe it won't until you go up and shake it. An annoying issue for sure. Is that one reason you sold it?

@@time410s when it would jam i would have to stop the machine and fix it. got to be too much. also i dont drive so i would have to catch a ride with someone to use it. plus i prefer hitting with my friend or using a ball carrier. i think thats more efficient for drills/practice for my game. at this point i just need to practice my serve and rally drills to improve.

I gotcha. I work on feeling through my strokes a lot but it is also nice to have when doing lessons. I can set it up to feed lobs as well or do swinging volleys. Those are great practice.
