Band tuning. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to overstate how important band tuning is.
As we mentioned in part 1 of this series, bands can really be a conundrum. We send out 7/16 bandsets which are overpowered for almost all enthusiasts who shoot many hundreds of lighter-weight rounds with matched (lighter) bandsets.
But . . . since we (SimpleShot) bring thousands of NEW shooters into the sport for the first time, we have to consider the desire of first-time shooters. You guessed it. They want POWER and when you don't give them power, they tell their friends that slingshots are dumb.
So that's the conundrum.
But there's an answer: tuning.
Our 7/16 bandsets are more latex (energy) than you need for most projectiles. But it's OK. Here, we demonstrate that even a fat band can shoot a 3/8 steel round at s l o w speeds or at a nice clip with just a simple snip of the bands.
