Early spring crappies can be tough to find before they move shallow. Knowing how to use your electronics properly and effectively is the easiest way to cover water and locate fish holding tight to structure.
I think live imaging and marking crappes is far more effective strategy than side imaging and only marking structures. There might be structures with no fish around them. You probably knew ahead of time that particular structure is holding fish. In a new lake, I would never throw my lure without marking fish. It is just waste of time. Nice slabs though. Great to see ladies out there fishing as good as boys.
The fish usually show up as shadows when using the side imaging screen. It does take a little bit of time learning at just what you are looking at with SI. But trust me it marks fish!!👍
Do you confirm your spot with down imaging and a marker? I live in the south and fish muddy water, but have a home in the mountains of North Carolina. The clear water is very intimidating
I love my side imaging and have found a ton of structure with it but I can never see fish on it especially not crappie or perch. Are you able to see fish on it or do I need to just start fishing all of the structure to see if it’s holding fish?
