2 similar vehicles in power body style and maybe weight too. the dodge may be better in some cases than the audi ,but the audi would do better on rough terrain (if some people would use them on that). in overall i'd say audi is a better choice in the awd systems .

There is no any case where Dodge would be better than audi…this is so set up and test drivers should be shamed! When Dodge get up on rollers driver flor it every time! With audi they if there is any way to show audi as bad they would do! But audi is audi and was, is and going to be best!

Which transfer case on the Durango? On the V6 version, I think it's the MP2010 with open center differential and 50/50 torque bias.
@4x4.tests.on.rollers
@4x4.tests.on.rollers Год назад
I think the number was MP3010.
@TnTTyler
@TnTTyler Год назад
Its an MP3010 with a fixed torque split
@Softroader
@Softroader Год назад
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I ask this because there are 3 different transfer cases on the Durango: The MP2010, with a free centre differential and fixed torque split (50/50, sometimes 48/52) The MP3010, which is variable torque split active on demand transmission (initially 47/53, sometimes 35/65). The MP3023, which is an active on-demand transmission with low range. These transfer cases are also used on the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2. And in addition, the MP3010 is apparently coupled with a mechanical wet clutch and electronic limited slip rear differential And apparently the MP3010 is only fitted to the V8. The MP3010 would be the standard on WK2 SRT8 Hence my questioning.
@4x4.tests.on.rollers

@@Softroader That will be MP2010 then. QUADRA-TRAC I with open center diff.

It seems to me that the Audi has to give much smaller throttle inputs than the Dodge to free itself. It could also be that the Dodge's driver just has an overly eager right foot... xD
@4x4.tests.on.rollers
@4x4.tests.on.rollers Год назад
Actually there's quite a lot of throttle in Audi, I would say that even more than in Dodge but brakes are keeping the wheels and they do not allow them spin.

Audi - permanent mechanical drive of both axles witch central diff case = Torsen. Durango - viscous clutch adds axle if are need = Haldex, am I wrong?. In my Fiat Freemont/Dodge Journey is second one, so i presumed that Durango had same
@4x4.tests.on.rollers

@@13macias84 Unfortunately you are wrong. Durango also has permanent all wheel drive system, with mechanical center differential. Actually it's borrowed from Grand Cherokee. Freemont/Journey is completely different from Durango.

@1wasinAlpha
@1wasinAlpha Год назад
honestly both vehicles system sucks! It's binding itself by itself. When both front wheels lock up at the same time, because the center diff is also locked it's causing the goddamn whole drive shaft to fcking seize, thus no power to the rear axle, and if you don't get power to the rear wheels how the fck is the car suppose to move? The computer on these systems still don't understand which axle is slipping and which axle has traction at all. Which is a fail. It should know that if both front wheels are slipping or not and if 2 wheels on 1 axle are both slipping it should only focus the E-LSD to work on the axle that actually has traction... This is why tesla performs best on these tests. Front and rear axles are independent from each other so don't matter what happens one axle only has to work on itself.
