As a musician myself you dont want to hear what stupic cryptic stuff we use to express what we are doing (even when we could put it in terms of music theory).
@@tobio1988 as a drummer, I know exactly what you mean. It’s always funny to me when I see the puzzled look on peoples faces when a band member tells me what beat they want and it’s not in speakable words, but I know what they are saying.
@@tobio1988 no I’m dying to hear it actually!! I think it’s so cool, my favorite was hearing M. Shadows describe to Gates what he wanted in a guitar riff lol
I didn't know what slipknot was when I first saw the band on a picture. I was judgmental of their appearance or whatever, not knowing it was a metal band. But now my mind is completely 180
They're using the principle of "shock sells, so sell shock". A proven formula for rock and roll success. We've seen it before. Let's name a few. KISS. Alice Cooper. Elton John. Madonna. Rob Zombie/White Zombie. Marilyn Manson. And many more.
Ladies and gentlemen, Jim Fucking Root and Corey Fucking Taylor. Cheers to Knot and the maggots, absolute class of the genre as people and as showmen. Can't speak highly enough of them. 🤘🤘
Last Thursday at rock werchter when Pearl Jam was playing, everytime in the breaks between songs Eddie Vedder was asking if everyone was doing ok and for people to give a sign if they weren’t. Some bands just manage to show how much they care about people!
This show was the first one I've been to where the band stopped mid song to make sure their fans were safe. The way they stopped and started back up was so impressive and didn't slow down the momentum or harm the energy of the show. Other artists need to be taking notes of Corey and Slipknot. Top notch
They did this at Ridgefield in WA too. Not the cleanest start back up....Corey was like "The BUMP BUMP BUMP part." and everyone looked at him like...'Huh?' Was super cool of them to look out for fans.
So kind, metal fans might seem crazy, but they are so kind and caring for everyone they see, and I love Corey and everyone in the band for really caring for there fans, I thank them
Corey stopped during “Surfacing” at our show in Toronto on May 30th after Shawn alerted him to a fan in trouble in the pit. After a short delay and a thumbs up from said fan as he was being helped by support staff they started the song from the beginning and carried on.
This band is a class act.. but, Side note: I find is fascinating how the lighting tech/crew can basically pick up on the lighting cues when the band starts the song back at the bridge after being stopped. Techs do not get enough credit in this business!
I’ll never forget watching As I Lay Dying some years ago. I was more fascinated at the light tech at the control board than I was the band. Don’t get me wrong, the band was at their peak performance level, but that tech…not only was he doing everything manually, he was singing along and head banging too.
In case anyone doubts you, someone did have a heart attack at a Slipknot concert one time, and though they were rushed to the hospital quickly, they did unfortunately die.
@@ZeroBeat1 yea it was so sad i think there was one other concert of slipknot when another person died also... so sad but anyone can die in the matter of seconds no joke... never know could be choking dehydration, shooting, heart attack, stroke, broken temple from fight, shit even getting hit by accident from someone in a mosh pit.... getting trampled on....fuck literally anything can happen in the matter of seconds
@@sirblankenshipyou should definitely check out a local music store for a bulletin board with bands looking for members. Found my band at a guitar center, I bet you can too!! Good luck!!
Also impressed with how on the ball the lighting/effects team was. They had only a few seconds from when they decided where to re-enter the track, to sync everything to the right time and get it restarted right on queue. Class act all around.
So sick how they get right back into it on a count of 4. I witnessed this at Papa Roach at Welcome to Rockville a couple weeks ago. Jacoby stopped the show, watched the person get safely to the side and counted back in. It was beautiful. Go hard but take care of one another!
Never been a fan of this band, but that was classy. Big thumbs up to Slipknot for doing the right thing. Everybody who needs help, should get it. Nice and calm, very professional.
Same. However, their 'Devil in I' is a great song. Also, Rammstein did that for their fans too, I think I've seen a video on RU-vid. It's so great when the band care.
It's why I love heavy Rock bands Contrary to popular THINKING these guys are the sweetest big hearted people to ever play Same with many others I went to concerts to, this kind of thing never happens in a Motley Crue concert or a Kiss🤮 concert, for ex, being concerned for fans etc stopping the show to ask people to b kind to move back to help a person or person's I only saw, or at least that's my own experience, I only saw this in VERY heavy rock type of bands. I'm 52 years old have that said I can pretty much say and I'm sure you ALL agree here that I've been thru the BEST music decades to EVER exist right?? Been in some REALLY incredible concerts best ones ever ever KNOW what I'm talking about. So, keep rocking Slipknot ❤️
That is consummate professionalism and respect for their fans. And give the fans credit in return for understanding and supporting the band while they took the break.
@@homersimpson5964 there’s still people who think it’s the work of the devil. Just let me have my day man. As for relax? I’m cool as a cucumber..where that come from is a mystery
James the fucking legend spotting this one. Such a dude. This is why I will always love the metal community. When I was a kid going to shows the regard that the band and crowd had for each other was amazing. Lovely people.
I was there last night it was my first time seeing them and I have to admit it was the best time I had since March 10th of 2018 when I seen INK, Like Moths To Flames and Motionless In White in Columbus
Slipknot did what Travis Scott didn't do. Slipknot is a group of 9 who saved 1. Travis is one man who caused the deaths of 9 people. And they say that rockers have no soul...
Same thing happened at a concert I was in 2019, Shinedown's Brent Smith stopped singing cause a fan fainted and called for EMTs to bring help. Gotta love how much these performers care about their fans
Not surprised. I saw Slipknot two weeks ago and Corey Taylor and company are all about the fans. Concern for fan safety during shows on the part of the band is the right thing to do. Kudos to Slipknot!!
When I went to this concert I didn’t know anything about Slipknot, just wanted an excuse to hang out with some buddies in Cincinnati, and I was loving the music, I thought they were pretty good, but this moment made me a lifelong fan, to see a band as big as them still care about the well-being of their fans at a concert is fucking awesome. I’ve been itching to see them again
That's what it's all about. We are all One. We are all a team, a family. We need to look out for each other. And when we know everyone is safe, we can keep on partying. That was an amazing thing to do. That's what we all should do. Props to Slipknot for giving a good example! I love those guys. btw also props to the fans that they also see the bigger picture and start applauding Slipknot for pausing rather than shaming them!
Anyone know what happened to that fan that got dragged out? ….. I always figured it would be hard to spot trouble amongst a sea of faces. Unless it was an issue with multiple fans. But if you can spot a single fan in trouble, we’ll then kudos to you!!!
