@@flashbaxstudioz3074 I've been to alot of phish and dead shows too. So I don't think drugs are the problem. Just a lack of good judgment and kindness. One time in 2013 my friend and I were being annoying fan girls yelling "we love you Corey" "we love you Slipknot" while in the VIP area, Corey was on the other side of the fence about to start a radio interview, and said "SHUT THE F*CK UP" It was worth it.
@@deadshotlafferty9540 Unfortunately the fence was covered we couldn't see him but we could hear his voice and were were so excited to be that close by on the other side of the fence a few feet away. What an honor it is to have had Corey Taylor tell us to stfu. Hahaha!
What Corey said was not mad at all- he was telling the truth by saying the metal community stands together despite imperfection- quite beautiful, actually. You should rephrase your description, bcz what he said is solid gold.
I think the title is referring to the "fuck you" to the person that was trying to get an autograph on the mask. But yeah the title still doesnt fit the video lol
I've said it for years, every person who likes heavy music has some issues. Including myself. It was good to hear Corey say what I thought for years about us heavy music fans being a little fucked up. Lol
@@TheKarret There's nothing like keeping your dark side in check like being 40 and throwing tree branches at another human being because you didn't like what they said about your favorite band
@@commodore6430 Lol, idk for sure if the dude throwing that branch was 40 or not, but I can't be mad at it, personally. Metalheads don't take kindly to outsiders disrespecting legends, and love 'em or hate 'em, Slipknot have made it to the legend phase for being in the game for over 20 years and still killing it. If MGK "got" rock and metal so much, like he acts like he does, he'd understand how the fans get when you disrespect the legends. But he's a poser, didn't know what he was getting himself into, and sometimes, shit happens. It's not even _just_ that he was making fun of Slipknot, but he was lying about what Corey said, AND taking shots at ALL the bands playing the same festivals as him over some bs poser shit like "they're not wearing uncomfortable shoes like Doc Martens", you know, the shoe invented by a doctor literally to be more comfortable, and a lack of "rock attitude" .... Dude wants to see that "F You" rock attitude? The fans are giving it to him in spades. Can't be mad at the dude giving MGK exactly what he thought was missing from the rock/metal scene. MGK brought it on himself by running his mouth like that.
@@TheKarret 15 or 40. That's bad behavior. Don't preach to me about slipknot. I'm well aware. I've been around the whole time. Chances are I'm way older than you. I don't care if he was talking shit on John Bonham. You know, arguably the greatest rock drummer of all the time. hate him all you want for it.. How you feel inside and how you express it using language is your business(unless you make a threat)but the minute someone crosses the line of being violent towards someone, that changes the entire game. You then forfeit your right to safety..You deserve to get punched in the fucking mouth. Everything you said basically was like "yeah well we didn't like what he said so it's okay to throw shit and act like a gatekeeping douche bag"... The fans are not in a band. It's not a fans job to display any sort of attitude. THEY are the ones who came to see the show. The bands didn't pay money to come see the fans so that don't even make sense bro. I'd like to see a slipknot fan throw something at me. They'd be knocked the fuck out. Slipknot fans are fucking douche bags bruh and this proves it because for whatever reason, they think they're so different and unique/better than other music fans so they have a right to act like little overgrown men children. After all, you're not their kind right? I can see why. You're nobody's kind if you act like that. I'd rather be chilling with a bunch of nickelback fans. I'm not even defending MGK, I think what he said was stupid. Bad move for business but that doesn't excuse bad behavior and it doesn't let thr band off the hook for not calling those people out.
@@commodore6430 It can be bad behavior, but some people, like MGK are too stupid to learn from words alone - didn't learn a damn thing when Eminem slaughtered him, jumped genres and immediately turned around and did the same shit. Honestly, if he said something about Slayer, lord knows that fanbase would be WAY worse to deal with than Slipknot's fanbase. And if the fans who dish physical shit out and MGK duke it out, then so be it. I'm not really one to often be a gatekeeper, I use terms like poser very sparingly, because more often than not, I have a pretty chill attitude about it. MGK was literally doing ONLY superficial shit, and then being a tryhard about how hardcore he is for having a fake "fuck you" bravado and "wearing the right, flashy and expensive clothes" in a genre that's not about that fake nonsense - most people in rock and metal make fun of that shit because it's so obvious when you fake it and that fakeness is annoying as fuck. When that's all you got with some Avril Lavigne-tier trash, behind which most of the talent is derived from a pop punk star from 20 years ago, yeah, I'll get on board with people knowing how fucking phony he is. Babymetal was a contentious band, but I was supportive of them from pretty early on and they proved themselves to not be full of shit phonies; they had special costumes and shit, what might as well be a devil may care attitude, given how some metalheads were appalled at the thought of jpop and metal mixing, but they weren't insufferable egomaniacs and they stuck it out without lashing out at legends. The fans are part of a subculture that MGK agitated by not understanding how the rock/metal community does things. The fans and bands in rock - but especially metal - is a much thinner line than I guess in other genres. It's a much closer knit community than I guess MGK realized. And you know what? If a Slipknot fan throws something at you, then go duke it out with them. I'm not the type to throw shit myself, but I'm not mad at the people who did throw shit. Some people only learn through physical violence, and if that's what it takes to teach MGK to keep that ego of his in check, then so be it, I'm not mad at it. I'd say there's a fair portion of Slipknot's fanbase that are a bit rabid; and that's something MGK shoulda known before talking shit about Slipknot. If he was such a big fan of Slipknot, his ass woulda known that. Hell, when Slipknot was my favorite band while I was in high school, I was aware of how obsessive Slipknot fans can get. I don't think I've got anything against Nickelback _fans_ ; the band sucks, but I don't take that out on the fans - hell, I don't even really take it out on MGK fans to be fans of him; but I will let them know he dun goofed. Also, you're talking about a band who, when feuding with Mushroomhead, performed in Mushroomhead's hometown, where Mushroomhead fans threw padlocks and shit at them, so after their set, them and a couple other bands went into the crowd and beat the shit outta those fans. And you're talking about fans of a type of music, where popular things to do are get in mosh pits and bruises, missing teeth and broken bones are considered badges of honor.. like... no duh they're more aggressive than your typical rock audience... that should be obvious. If MGK wasn't a fraud, again, he would have understood this about the subculture, but he didn't, and he ran his mouth instead, and so he got what was coming to him and might continue to get it until he stops touring rock festivals.
@Ridge Nappier so what if they did, you still dont stop the show that everyone else came to see for an autograph. That can wait til the end of the show.
@@anjbabalu4046 Then I suggest you not interrupt a show to try and get it autographed. Buy a VIP backstage pass, and there's your opportunity. Or show up to an autograph signing event. If you do what that fan did, then you deserve what happened, and you've only yourself to blame.
Talks about everyone being family while turning their back on Joey because he was having severe medical issues that suddenly started happening to him without any warnings and they fired him because they figured he was just "heavily on drugs"
Corey Taylor and the crew are the best in the world I'm proud to b part of we call each other maggots !!!! SLIPKNOT RULZ FOR LIFE WE ARE NOT NOBODY KIND 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Preach corey and I agree 100% seen him live twice once during Iowa tour pledge of allegence tour, once stone sour (self titled) both the best experiences in my life
Am I the only one a bit weirded out by the stage and venue overall? Like it just looks too clean for a Slipknot show and it's so spacious and kinda barren looking too. What's also strange is seeing the other band members just chilling and chatting about while Corey holds his speech.. It just gives me a very casual vibe and that's a very unusual vibe for a Slipknot show.
it looks like that specific show/venue has a much longer section of front stage. the metal risers behind where cory and sid are walking is where the stage usually ends.
This is pnc arts center in Nj . It’s a amphitheater. It’s actually one of the better amphitheater’s in the US. But nonetheless most amphitheater’s have the same kinda idea some taller some shorter . This one just happens to be taller and wider . Gotta remember Slipknot is huge and the days of playing clubs are halls are gone . But I get what your saying . It’s a metal band playing a fancy venue . Saw slayer here in 2018.
Slipknot is nothing like they used to be. I was actually looking forward to hearing what "dark place" Corey was talking about at this day and age. He was prolly gonna start singing Vermillion Pt 2.
@@christophermcguire6440 I hear ya and agree . Great live show still but those days have passed glad I got to see them when they first started out into the Iowa era shows .saw them at convention hall in asbury park twice , birch hill nite club in old bridge and at tattoo the earth with Metallica/ slayer at giants stadium . 99 -00 days .
@Jim Ace. I saw them back in 2001 on the Pledge of Allegiance tour. They still had the fire and craziness back then. I went and saw the 11 years later at Mayhem 2012. I was very skeptical but they played all their old shit and absolutely blew me away, again.
This tour has been amazing so far. I went to the Syracuse show and it was one of the best live performances I've ever seen. Corey sound's GREAT right now...the best his vocals have been in year's. I feel extremely lucky to have caught them during this cycle.
I saw this concert (Knotfest) just days after this was filmed and uploaded in Raleigh, NC. I was not a Slipknot fan before, but are now. Corey has very interesting views on our country and the state we are in as humans and I respect him.
Man I miss my home state. PNC is a great place for shows and they would always play there then Camden after and getting to see them twice in like 1 week is AWESOME
@@katherinejohnson3824 : Allowing fans to just throw stuff on stage for an autograph is lame. Corey had every right to react that way. It was very selfish of the fan to stop a show in front of thousands just for that one fan to have their own little moment. Not cool. Fuck it, why not every fan throw something on stage, right? Give me a break.
I love Corey. But I would have been honored to sign it if someone gave a shit about my music. For all we know that mask was very important to that kid. Maybe he made it. Maybe he paid alot for it. Eitherway. Slipknot rules.
Yeah people will defend it as a joke and many people mean it when they say they would have laughed if he reacted that way to them, but I would have been honored that so many people had come to see me play music. Because as it stands now no one likely every will 😂 I'd have secretly signed it at least that way no one got too encouraged and expected it every time.
@@cmrguitar1137 You "stand by what he did?" I doubt you would if it was your shit he threw away to some random stranger in the crowd. This was just a mean thing to do. Period. @@ZeroMilk Again… There’s a time and a place. You’re at a concert, not a meet and greet. Is he supposed to stop what he’s doing to cater to that ONE fan? Hmmm I met him like 12 years ago and he signed 11 things for me lol cds and pictures I had taken of him at concerts. He was super nice lol and he stayed till EVERYONE got to meet him. Or maybe he’s different in Slipknot lol I did meet him in a Corey Taylor acoustic thing.. 🤷🏻♀️
I was there and he wasn't mad just messing with that person and I agree its probably cooler that he threw it away. lol This was a great show and the band was so on this night. Fun times...
@@ZeroMilk no worries mate :). By the way, I agree with you. Am I the only one who noticed that the band's behavior and bond is slowly degenerating after that Paul Grey and Joey Jordison died and Chris Fehn being fired? It's like they were the heart of the band in my opinion...
That fan probably waited their whole life for the slightest opportunity to get Corey's signature and he just through it away lol that's kinda fucked up if you ask me.
Agree with everything he’s saying, and I love slipknot.. always been a hardcore fan but come on man you had to throw that dudes mask like that? I understand that he shouldn’t have been asking him to sign it in the middle of that but.. he’s still a fucking fan and bought the ticket and your albums. If it wasent for people like him they wouldn’t be where they are today. At least throw the mask back at the guy.. love Corey but that was a dick thing to do.
I understand where Corey is coming from but doesn’t it seem a bit hypocritical to talk about everyone there being family and like 5 seconds later he says “oh fuck you” and throws the dudes mask in a random direction? Like bruh it would’ve made more sense to just hand it back at the very least.
Dude hes not mad at all. Seems pretty calm and collected. He just threw a dudes mask which im pretty sure the person was happy it happened in the first place
So I’m a huge fan, but how do you give this long ass speech about how everyone there is family and then treat “family” like that right in the middle of it. I mean yea what the fan did was annoying but man this person just paid their hard earned money to come see you may never have the opportunity to see you or be that close to you again and that’s the interaction they get with you? Man that’s kinda shitty if you ask me. I know shit has to get old when you are this famous but it comes with the territory. Idk kinda disappointed in Corey here.
I saw Slipknot in Milwaukee recently. Great show.... great everything. Truth be told, Corey is a huge hypocrite in regards to everything he says and does. For me Slipknot is the sum of its parts and NOT each band member on their own. Especially Corey. Same thing with TOOL, my favorite band. Amazing music but JMK is a complete, pretentious, stuck up jackhole, just like Corey here. Pretty sure Slipknot have a few songs with lyrics like..... money can't buy me!! Sure Corey, sure. That's why you guys fucked Joey. When Corey got covid he blamed a"selfish audience member". When I saw them, there was no mask mandate (thank God) or any wellness checks at the gate. So, if he gets covid he blames us? Fast forward one month...... they operate the show like nothing happened.
Yeah I agree, seems very hypocritical. I hope it was a joke or something because if not then Corey needs to spend some real time killing that ego of his
