The song is about burying the memories of the kind of person he was, burying his faults and insecurities The rooms he travels into depict these things. Corey himself is a symbol of confusion, not knowing where to go from here. The first room is Slipknot's DJ, Sid Wilson who represents anxiety, hence his frantic nature. Next is their drummer Joey Jordison, who represents pride, admiring his self-image, basking in the attention he gets. The next room is their keyboard player Craig "133" Jones, who represents isolation, feeling of complete loneliness in a void-like state of being. The next room is their bassist Paul Gray (R.I.P.), who represents guilt, a haunting image appearing in his reflection reminding him of all the mistakes he has made. The next room is percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, representing fame. Surrounded by beautiful women, partying into the night and being admired by those around him, letting it get the better of him. The next room is lead guitarist Mick Thompson, representing distrust. Facing other people and refusing to let them into your life no matter how much they prove themselves. The next room is 2nd guitarist Jim Root, who represents desire. Being surrounded by lovely babes and striving for materialism to try and fill a hole. The last room is 2nd percussionist Chris Fehn, representing redemption. Cleaning himself of all his sins and his fear of what he has become in order to hopefully live a new life.
"Traded my emotions for a contract to commit", made it all sound like a failed marriage and bad divorce to me. I really liked Slipknot since I heard them but I hadn't bought any albums so I just heard them when I heard them but I bought it shortly after separating from my ex wife and it helped a lot.
Glad i found your channel, you bring a whole new energy to the reaction game. Could you react to "Winter" by Oceans of Slumber. I think you would really enjoy it! Stay Dope!!!!
India Reacts. Actually what Corey Taylor is saying in this song. Is that he had never been himself in a relationship. So he is trying to find himself again.
