yeah, the problem with anders wasn’t that he was a bad vocalist, his style just didn’t fit slipknot, his style was death metal vocals, which are great, just not with slipknot’s music

A heavy metal band and yeah heavy metal has some melody to it and death metal is just all out screams and no melody so that’s why I think he was in the wrong type of metal band

100% agreed, anders is great at the heavy/ death metal vocals and in some ways could make you shit your self and corey has a great nu metal voice and more melodic and of course having the emotion and meaning both demos are great

they’re a reason why they’re so unique. if you change any aspect though they begin to move a lot closer to generic. if you were to try to replace each member individually, one at a time, with more common styles, you’d see one by one how important each one is.

Not generic man, please don't think your taste, or opinion of what is "unique" defines it. I mean, i like listening to heavier than slipknot stuff for example. People don't believe me when i say it, but i ACTUALLY ENJOY listening to rings of saturn, some say it's just noise, but that's what everyone who's not into metal says about metal. I think music is there to make people happy, whatever makes you happy is up to you, don't try to put on a definition to it, this way it's easier not to fight, what's generic to you can mean a lot to so much people, Peace man ;)

Dude MFKR was anything but generic. In the song Do nothing/ bitchslap there's a jazzy breakdown that comes out of nowhere. In my opinion, I prefer the MFKR album more than modern SlipKnoT.

I say Corey is Slipknot with out Corey slipknot wouldnt be a band anymore Coreys scream from 1999 was what made slipknot what they are today in my opinion i miss the 1999 scream

Conrad Fassington That was back before corey had to change it so he wouldn’t blow his vocal chords. Then on Vol 3 He was pretty drunk during most of the recordings so his voice was a bit different.

Corey used to scream at the top of his lungs. No technique, just raw emotion! Clown heard Corey sing the chorus and knew right then he was what the band needed.

​@@megafloss2012 well, they went on singing/growling lessons with Melissa Cross because atleast for corey, he almost never talked because he was saving his voice for the shows or because it hurt too much to talk. I don't know about Dreiman, but it's probably a similar reason or he wanted to be able to sing better over all. If you think that she only made them worse singers just look at all the other bands she has helped like halestorm, Ghost (B.C), escape the fate/falling in reverse, lamb of god, machine head, megadeth, slayer, Volbeat and Suicide silence. If you think Mitch Lucker from Suicide silence was bad at growling I don't know what is.

Blake the reason that Corey’s voice changed after Iowa and hasn’t been the same since was because he wore out his voice completely after the Iowa tour cycle. Corey said that doctors told him if he continued to scream as he did before, he would never sing again, so he needed to change it up.

The audio quality on Anders version is better in my opinion, alot more clear. Corey's demo production is very distorted.
