This song hit me deep. In High school I was the popular girl. There was this goth kinda guy that I was friends with in class. He adored me, praised the ground I walked on. Oh i told a very closed friend of mine that i like him and we are okay with that. I bought this album on the day it came out. Put the CD in and didn't realise it was on shuffle. This was the first song it played. I fell in love with the album that day, and this song is in my top 10 slipknot songs ever.

Most people will never really understand what this song is about. And thats kind of tragic. I think Corey knew that too, and knew it would add to the tragic undertone despite the felicity of a dream in the background.
this song makes me very nostalgic for a period, for a person, for a particular day: May 28, 2021. at the time, I was much more carefree than now, it was spring, it was cool and I was quite well, but not for everything: Dad had been working away from home for a few months and I missed him a lot. I was often sad and melancholy because I had a crush on a girl who seemed to be so different from who I knew, the more time passed the more different she became. it made me so confused and paranoid, I was always looking for ways to talk to her, but I often failed and every conversation was unsatisfactory. on that day, a months and two days had passed since we last saw each other, I missed her so much, so I decided to go to the place we had been together only to partially relive what I felt when she was sitting next to me . I know this thing seems to be really sad, but it turned out to be very comforting. after being there for a while I decided to go to my dad's house, as I had the keys with me, even though he wasn't there. I opened the door and started tidying up the kitchen, the living room, then the bedroom. then I sat in the garden while listening to this song. then when the verse "she isn't real ..." started, I felt a tremendous shiver that touched my heart and literally made me understand how I felt. those words still move me a lot, they will never stop doing it. now, an entire season has passed, a lot of things have changed, I probably don't even like that girl anymore, we talk little to each other, but I just feel like a friend. right now i'm sitting in the same place, i did exactly the same thing today, it's august 21, 2021 and i just listened to this song and it still speaks clearly to me, even though things have changed, it still reminds me of what i experienced that day and as i already have said, it makes me nostalgic, in a good way.

This hits me. I had this fantasy in my youth. A dream girl. Then at the end of it, graduating high school, I met her. She was everything to me. Everything I dreamed of even. We were together for 8 years and even engaged. But little did I know everything would change. Some set backs caused me to live back with my mom for a moment, but her house caught fire due to an extension cord drawing to much power from an outlet we didn't know was wired wrong. No one was harmed, but unfortunately my cat and my mom's dog as well as her cat died in the fire. At this time I was at my lowest and my EX wasn't there. She has been ignoring me the past two weeks, so I go to see her only to find that she has been cheating on me with 2 different guys, the one she is dating now. It was at this point I realized that the past 8 years she had used that "dream girl" thing I had to minipulate me so I'd see her as innocent. Needless to say we are no longer together and for the past few months I sing along to this song and cry, sometimes it makes the pain go away...

I have a lot I went through last year alone One of the worst to start was probably losing my girlfriend of 4 years. After that everything rapidly started to just deteriorate. Almost like sand anything that seemed good when I'd approach would just slip through my fingers. Time and time and time again. Watched my family fall apart like crazy, I started sleeping and drinking like crazy just to get away from hurting. Not like it helped. I would still cry about everything before sleeping sometimes wake up and realize I was crying in my sleep. My life sucked and a lot of it is still sticking with me. I stay silent often the only time I'm not is often when I'm crying all alone. Just to avoid being a burden to anyone. This year I have dropped though a few burdens. My ex is not one yet. my family falling apart is also not one. But a few is still progress. And I'm happy with that alone. I wanted to give up so many times last year but here I am 2023 and still fighting. I'm not gonna lose. That's a promise to myself, God, and the beautiful people I still do have left in my life.
