Who can forget that classic moment when John Bonham steps out from behind the drums, plays the rhodes and sing lead on a self composed piano-driven number, stays there for a country infused mid-tempo rocker sung by Jimmy Page, then picks up the guitar to play a secondary lead guitar part on the same song?
Holy smokes, AMAZING! I know it's a huge cliché to comment that this or that group or artist is underrated, but Sloan is so vastly underrated it's incomprehensible. The lyrics, vocals, musicianship -- the complete vibe is being missed by such a huge audience. Another great Canadian band that largely remains our secret and deserves a greater world stage. ❤
Because I saw it live, it was only a memory until it was revealed for limited viewing 20 years after. One thing that is saved for memory is Chris sitting at the Rhodes solo playing Summer's My Season for a small crowd as everyone filed out. Glad we stayed behind! I never got in any camera shots, but friends who I attended with did.
the dude on left w/glasses.... everytime there's a camera close-up, look on his face is like, "I can play drums, too, fellas"... "come one, lemme play the next one" ... .."it's my turn"... ."I wanna play the drums, now"...
Oh wow, I just stumbled on this. I paid for 7-day access to this video back in, I think, 2021 and watched it several times. I hope this gets to stay up. This is historically important! This has always been my favorite Sloan album, and I live too far south to ever see them live anymore.
@@Iemonzinger If that box set actually happens, I'll be happy to give them all my money for whatever extras they include, as long as they include this video. But they ought to realize by now that fans want this concert for posterity one way or another.
Waiting for my record order to come in and I tried to wait, but I couldn't. This is my favorite of their albums, what a treat. God, they're so good. I don't get how they're so good 💙
This is fantastic. I had only been introduced to the band a few years prior to this, and only seen them in large venues. So great to see a private performance in their prime.
@@Iemonzinger So it was intentional? I figured they just ran out of chairs haha, thats hilarious. Thanks for linking that Led Zeppelin show, never seen that before. They look like 1st grade students sitting on the ground waiting for Robert Plant to read them a story haha.
Fantastic footage. Thanks for posting. Is there any way to re-sync the audio and video together? There are several place where the timing between picture and sound is off a bit.... Otherwise, AWESOME. Thank you.
I absolutely adore this whole performance / set and album .. this is phenomenal !! I watch this pretty much every night lol , greatest band ever .. At The Edge of the Scene is such a genius song
