Slomo Destruction Fun with the Full Auto Slingshot 

The audio brings me back to my youth. Old gaming consoles made same kind of noises.

Joerg, once again you have managed to assemble my family around my my computer desk to witness the latest marvel of home defense. You simply rock! There is no other explanation.

@Spencerm33 The audio was an experiment, I had to render it as my camera does not record audio in slomo mode. Epic music would be nice, but then again it is usually copyrighted and youtube does not allow partners to use such material.

That was completely awesome. If there is anything to do to improve the slingshot is to improve the shape of the gears so the teeth don't collide as much. Greetings from Argentina.

@PiPphiltitley Yes, it would take stronger bands. But making eight new bands is a ton of work!

I cant help but wonder what ancient warfare would have been like if they had latex rubber in those days. Imagine 1000 men armed with these, firing in unison.. :)

@TheBoyFromNorfolk They have in fact cracked the pot, but the material takes time to shatter. Remember in realtime the whole thing was over in half a second.

The first bottle was well and truly out of the game after the first shot, then the second hit and the devastation was amazing :D

You have got to do slowmos more often, it Looks amazing, especially the Impact on the target!

That thing rules and so does the slow motion.

@Ultamaz It's OK, really. The turning may shift the shots a bit, but in a reproducable way so you can easily compensate. Full auto guns are always a bit "spray and pray" like.

@ldog1991 Yes, that was one sturdy pot, very thick, tough material.

@WhaleChurch Cool and dark is good, but degradation is inevitable. Check it constantly for tearing when you shoot it.

@mrwilliamwonder I disagree. Tapered flat bands with small pouches outperform tubes. By a great deal. Tubes last longer, that's why I still like them. But if you want to maximize the power, thin flat band rules.

@XkillerHopsX I work out, have been doing that practically all my life, and I am pretty good on the bench. No steroids, though. But I like good food and strong drink.

@calum341 Well, affordable slomo cams don't have great resolution. HD slomo cams cost a fortune (100k + dollars). This is just a humble hobby channel, even my little EX-F1 Pro was a serious investment for me (1000 dollars).

Since folks are making requests, I think a video dedicated to just rubber or band set-ups are in order explaining the differences between SPEED and POWER. I'm finding eight strands of 1745 Dankung tubing(pure rubber) to be even faster and hit as hard as Theraband gold (double layer) Multiple smaller tubes may be better than faltbands and they make less noise to shoot...the bands don't slap together.

@JoergSprave The flower pot is an excellent example of why you should always slope your armor. It helps to deflect incoming rounds.

I love it. I'm not critiquing your wonderful invention- but may I suggest using a drill and a few cogs to improve consistent accuracy in shots? Either way. I love your contraption!

@callscott1 Well, it took me long enough to make the eight shooter. Just making 48 band sets consumes a full weekend.

Looks nice. Have you thought about an auto reloading system? Use springs instead of bands. Locked into a channel. When fired they project the ball out the end. As the rotation continues, a spring clip of balls forces the next round into position. Then the springs are re-cocked and when the wheel returns to zero the next shot is fired. A fast reloading clip would be the next task.

Apply a battery drill and you will have a better rate of fire (!!!) and a more stable position because you don't have to move your hand.... and will be a real destructive weapon. Maybe you are able to built a more "shot" one too? Like... 16 sling instead 8? Very nice vid, man. 3 real funny minuts. Thanks.

@JoergSprave Well, I would agree that tapered Theraband flatlands hit hard and fast. Generally harder and faster than Theraband tubes and I love the smell of that Theraband gold rubber! lol It's so sticky I wrap my Sprave Cougar with it. The upper part of Cougar gets a little minicell foam underneath the rubber wrap. But I'm referring to Dankungs smaller diameter pure rubber tubing. This tubing is very fast and can stretch farther than Theraband tubes. You simply layer for power.

can not go wrong with grouping like that mate! would the frame and mechanism take stronger band joerg. bee a good one to see with your stronger bands on it! quality slomo mate. peace n love all stay safe pip

excellent! does the turning effect accuracy? perhaps the attachment of each band pairing should be offset by just a couple degrees towards you on the left side to counteract geocentric force

AWSOME INVENTION! just a quick question, isn't the slingshot innaccurate? only when your spinning it around, their is a delay between the slingshot being fired (or the ball being released) and the "barrel" rotating. meaning by the time the ball is out of the slingshot, it would've already turned by around 20 degrees :S

@JoergSprave What if you shifted the part that makes the balls pop out to the left so by the time they actually left the sling shot they were directly where you are aiming instead of off to the right slightly. That doesn't seem like it would be incredibly hard to adjust.

I would like to see this built with the 200 pound spear gun rubber tubes. It seemed that this wasn't even getting penetration through the clay pot, they just cracked it and bounced off. It needs more power! Make the entire thing from steel for reenforcement. That would be AWESOME! Excellent design though! I love it!

@JoergSprave Understandable. I really liked the video, for some reason that noise was hard to listen to so hit the mute button and was envisioning the slow-mos with epic music.

It seems that because of the rotating frame, the balls drift to the right and down when firing. This definitely seems like a better semi auto than repeating fire weapon.

@JoergSprave would it be possible to make a smaller group of slingshots inside the bigger one to increase the amount of rounds?

Just a thought. If you make the front hub, slightly smaller than the rear, you might get a little tighter group?? Cool Videos.

Not the most accurate weapon, but conceivably the most entertaining. It seems like it would be fun to scale down or increase firing capacity.

@slewis He said on one of his other videos that he picked up a camera that has a really high fps (2000 or so I think) specifically so he could do slow motion shots.

Perhaps the slingshots ought to be a little slanted so that the balls slide over the release rather than the leather. In addition, have you ever tried to give spin to a slingshot ball...?
