1. According to the 2013 autosomal IBD survey "of recent genealogical ancestry over the past 3,000 years at a continental scale", the speakers of the Serbo-Croatian language share a very high number of common ancestors dated to the migration period approximately 1,500 years ago with Poland and Romania-Bulgaria cluster among others in Eastern Europe. It is concluded to be caused by the Slavic expansion, which was a vast population that expanded over a large geographic area, and that the aforementioned expansion is "highly coincident with the modern distribution of Slavic languages". 2. According to Kushniarevich et al. 2015, the Hellenthal et al. 2014 IBD analysis also found "multi-directional admixture events among East Europeans (both Slavic and non-Slavic), dated to around 1,000-1,600 YBP" which coincides with "the proposed time-frame for the Slavic expansion". The Slavic influence is "dated to 500-900 CE or a bit later with over 40-50% among Bulgarians, Romanians, and Hungarians". The 2015 IBD analysis found that the South Slavs have lower proximity to Greeks than East and West Slavs and that there's an "even patterns of IBD sharing among East-West Slavs-'inter-Slavic' populations (Hungarians, Romanians, and Gagauz)-and South Slavs, across an area of assumed historic movements of people including Slavs". The peak of shared IBD segments between South and East-West Slavs suggests a shared "Early Slavic ancestry". 3. According to a recent admixture analysis of Western Balkan, the South Slavs show a genetic uniformity. The modeled ancestral genetic component of Balto-Slavs among South Slavs was between 55-70%. The 2006 Y-DNA study results "suggest that the Slavic expansion started from the territory of present-day Ukraine, thus supporting the hypothesis that places the earliest known homeland of Slavs in the basin of the middle Dnieper". 4. According to most Y-DNA studies, the distribution, variance, and frequency of the Y-DNA haplogroups R1a and I2 and their subclades R-M558, R-M458, and I-CTS10228 among South Slavs are in correlation with the spreading of Slavic languages during the medieval Slavic expansion from Eastern Europe, most probably from the territory of present-day Ukraine and Southeastern Poland. In other words, South Slavs are still primarily Slavic in terms of genetics, specifically, Y-DNA and aDNA.

As a Czech, I am proud of our Slavic traditions but I am becoming more and more disgusted by our government ... Our country is sold out all our companies that were very famous are either sold out in China or America. The only thing we have left so far is beer. The country, which was once very capable and independent, has become an assembly and factory of the world. I am very sad about this, and I would very much like our country to disengage from these leaders again and regain its pride. The Slavs should strengthen the ties more and stick together, I think it would be very useful in the future.

The Marche slave (French pronunciation: ​[maʁʃ slav]) in B-flat minor, Op. 31, is an orchestral tone poem by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky published in 1876. It was written to celebrate Russia's intervention in the Serbian-Ottoman War. It has been published variously as Slavic March (Serbian: Словенски марш / Slovenski marš; Russian: Славянский марш, romanized: Slavyanskiy marsh), Slavonic March, and Serbo-Russian March (Serbian: Српско-руски марш / Srpsko-ruski marš; Russian: Сербско-русский марш, romanized: Serbsko-russkiy marsh). In June 1876, Serbia and the Ottoman Empire were engaged in the Serbian-Ottoman War. Russia openly supported Serbia. The Russian Musical Society commissioned an orchestral piece from Tchaikovsky for a concert in aid of the Red Cross Society, and ultimately for the benefit of wounded Serbian veterans.[1][2] Many Russians sympathized with their fellow Slavs and Orthodox Christians and sent volunteer soldiers and aid to assist Serbia. Tchaikovsky referred to the piece as his "Serbo-Russian March" while writing it. It was premiered in Moscow on November 17 [O.S. November 5] 1876, conducted by Nikolai Rubinstein. The march is highly programmatic in its form and organization. The first section describes the oppression of the Serbs by the Turks. It uses two Serbian folk songs, "Sunce jarko, ne sijaš jednako" (Bright sun, you do not shine equally),[3] by Isidor Ćirić and "Rado ide Srbin u vojnike" (Gladly does the Serb become a soldier),[4] by Josip Runjanin - giving way to the second section in the relative major key, which describes the Russians rallying to help the Serbs. This is based on a simple melody with the character of a rustic dance which is passed around the orchestra until finally it gives way to a solemn statement of the Russian national anthem "God Save the Tsar". The third section of the piece is a repeat of Tchaikovsky's furious orchestral climax, reiterating the Serbian cry for help. The final section describes the Russian volunteers marching to assist the Serbs. It uses a Russian tune, this time in the tonic major key and includes another blazing rendition of "God Save the Tsar" prophesying the triumph of the Slavonic people over Ottomans. The overture finishes with a virtuoso coda for the full orchestra.
