Slow Air from Donegal: My Lagan Love, played on Multidrone Uilleann Pipes

This air has been collected in 1903 and is linked to a very popular song by Joseph Campbell. Played on a c sharp set of pipes. Chanter 19th century. The Kiernan drones have been modified for changing from Dd' tuning on bass and tenor to Aa from the enlengthened baritone and an added second baritone, with a special switch, by Tom kannmacher. His regulators include a forth regulator for e' and a c sharp key on the bass.

This is the very first piece I ever heard played on uilleann pipes. I heard it played by Finbar Furey in a German radio program of a live concert in 1969. I heard the music, not knowing its origin or the instrument it had been played on. I was so much impressed that I traced all aspects one has to know to play them bout the pipes from that moment on.

Hello Tom, did you have to use any chanter keys for this?

The piece is played in A on a c sharp set. So I had to play a g sharp key in the second part. The drones go in Aa, changing to Dd. There is an e regulator alongside the bass regulator (with an aditiional c sharp key) , so the combination ae and c sharp-e are possible.
