This is great! Really love that lick where you bend the 2nd note up to the flat 3rd. Sounds so saaaaad. This is a good example of making the guitar sounds like a human voice.

That strat sounds killer Brian. The more I play the more important I think getting the right tone is to how you play. I think you could spend a bit more time talking about tone etc. Some people would not realise how much changing pickup selection makes on a strat for instance. Appreciate all your amazing content, thanks Brian.
@psb962
@psb962 3 года назад
Key to good strat tone is (very) low pickup output, so in most cases turn down the volume to get that. Let amp do the work.

Dear Brian, This one is going down in my book along with caged, EP, 273,275,272, Slow Dark Blues EP 282, and EP 284 Boogie Woogie. It's only been a couple months since I paid the $90 bucks for a year's worth of your 10 years + of vids. In my mind, after today's Slow and Easy (SRV) EP415, I got my money's worth. This ol dude is having a ball playing some Vaughn one of my all-time favs. Cups half full. Thanks.

@TRUTH ZONE he was kiddingas clearly he knows SRV tuned down or he wouldn't have said that! He was expressing it's nice to jam SRV style without going half step down! Just to educate you a little, the reason SRV and Jimi tuned down was for Vocals along with a thicker sound! I assure bending isn't easier in Eflat with 13's and modern Metal is Played in drop B or lower. Sorry just don't want you to look bad or anything

One of my all-time favourite UK guitarists from the 50s 'Joe Brown' frequently backed Eddie Cochrane. In an interview, he said he asked Eddie how he was able to get such incredible bends on his third string. Eddie said it's a tuned down second string, (It's common practice in the USA). Well, i've tried it and it works!
