Andrew, I use to do the nail spacing when I was young and framing houses. We would tap them in on a slight angle so the bottom wouldn't side out. I was going to suggest that when you sheath the two sides you have plastic on, to roll it up so if you don't finish you can roll it back down at night to protect the osb on the exposed sides and it only takes a few minutes to do. I don't remember how we used to do it but we would tape it to a piece of conduit with strings and just pull up on the strings. We had the strings on the second level, we would go up in the morning put the conduit and plastic up work and if day drop it. We did it to protect the sides from snow. I was I Colorado at that time. Hope that this gives you an idea/ help in some way to do your sheathing on your exposed sides. Your friend, potato on the couch

Projectors can also be good for outdoor use or for having a large screen inside as they are a lot safer if people will be playing games on them as you don't need to worry about thrown controllers smashing the screen. It is funny how many people that don't like games will join in to some of the social games Nintendo puts out but then a lot of those same people get mad when they don't win.

Outside tv mounts should not be so close to the edge of the porch for the sun glare and weather. Looks like you need both closer to center of porch. We had to reposition our tv on our so screen in patio in Dallas twice. That Texas sun and heat was brutal. Just saying.. .. But keep up the great work and videos!
@TKCL
@TKCL 3 года назад
Won't be an issue, that's a 10ft side porch to the left, 20 ft deep main porch and everything is facing north. The second set of blocking over near the edge will probably never see a TV, that's a just in case blocking. The other blocking is going directly over a food prep area and is very protected.

Andrew, I would jus go ahead & get a gutter company to come out & put you up an seamless 1 pc gutter on each side of the house with downspouts on each corner. You wouldn't have to worry about your dirt/sand washing away, just put an old tin piece of roofing towards the yard under the each downspout. Having a 1 piece seamless gutter will look better than you doing 3 or 4 sections of gutter put together on each side. Well worth the $ to have it done even now, a crew could knock it out in no time since you in the rainy season one morning. Just an thought.
@TKCL

I'm definitely doing seamless gutters, expensive but worth it.

On the runoff issue you get your dirt boy you on it plant seed or spread seed whatever put hay on top of it and kind of meal it into the dirt or till it in just enough to make it stay so that it doesn't wash away other than that you're never going to have grass until it stops raining and from the looks of it it may be the year 2025 but I do understand exactly why you put the 10 where you put it and yes unfortunately working under 10 is absurd one thing that you may can do if you're going to spray foam that underside of the roof if you go ahead and do that it will change the heat inside the house or under the roof anyway keep doing what you doing have fun
@TKCL
@TKCL 3 года назад
I've yet to plant grass seed or bring in more dirt to level around the house. I'm not doing that until we dig for the septic, put siding on and gutters.
@jamesabroomeiii7552
@jamesabroomeiii7552 3 года назад
@@TKCL do you have access to a handbrake because you could actually halfway make some gutters something that is temporary would the 10 you've got there but I would suggest to get gutters. Let me rephrase that I would suggest to go ahead and purchase the gutters and leave the end caps off with no downspouts and then when you go to put the downspouts in so that whatever you just use a hole saw where were you going to put a downspout or the way we used to do it. Whenever we put the downspout in we would put the downspout out there and draw an X and then cut it with a grinder pull the tabs down and screw the downspout to the tabs are pop rivet either way that's easy attachment and clean but any any of that you can go ahead and put the gutters up temporarily and leave the end caps off as long as it's decent size gutters it would be fine the water would run out. But the only thing is if you want to use PBR panel gutters and you can order the gutters from Apex or All Metal in Dothan or MBCI in adel or Whirlwind out of Atlanta if you have anything on that that you any advice or input on whatever let me know and I will give you my email I don't work anymore but I know where to get stuff and I know how to do it but anyway LOL
@TKCL
@TKCL 3 года назад
I'm actually getting custom seamless gutters made with larger than average gutters and downspouts. I definitely want to leave that to the professionals. I had someone locally do my shop and I love it. Seamless is the way to do.
@jamesabroomeiii7552
@jamesabroomeiii7552 3 года назад
Seamless is awesome we used to get gutters that were 20 ft long they would make them up to 40 ft long at Apex but they're so damn hard to put up without bending but yes every roof made out of metal needs gutters because the water runs off so freaking fast. But if you've already decided who you're going to get to put them up you could go ahead and get them to do it on your porch side if they're not far from where you are at. Because that would definitely help with the ground getting washed away. But you have an awesome awesome evening try to relax the sun's going down time to grab a cold one

Shade cloth is the answer to working in sunny areas during the summer months. some screw in hooks and those cheap clip on grommet kits to turn the shade cloth into a easy to move tarp lets you move the shade as you need it. Also if it is secure enough it adds some rain protection as the rain will hit it long before it gets to the OSB so loose all the energy from the driving rain.
