Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

My mom taught me how to make pulled pork in a slow cooker, and this was my first time making it by myself. It cooked for a total of 8 hours, which was great because I prepared it in the morning and it was ready to eat for dinner. See seasonings and instructions below.
Optional seasonings:
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions:
1. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to pan. I used canola oil. Once hot, add pork, then season it on both sides.
2. Sear meat until each side turns golden brown.
3. Put meat in crockpot. Shake in your favourite BBQ sauce and pour in water to about half way up the piece of pork.
4. Cook on low for 8 hours with the slow cooker lid on.
5. Transfer meat to a bowl to shred with two forks. I added a splash of liquid from the slow cooker. Taste as you go-add more BBQ sauce and salt until you're happy with the result.
