U2 put this out as a B-side in 1997, they didn't even have it as a track on an album. It deserves so much more, an A-side release of its own at least. A fantastic tune which won't be heard by enough people. It deserves so much more.
It was out way before 97. I remember writing the lyrics on a page in junior year and i graduated 94. If memory serves it WAS a b side and i think.it was a on Faraway so close
@@MrERLoner Yeah, written in 1989 especially for Willie Nelson. Bono and Edge done early versions though it took some time to get Willie on board which they eventually did. My point above enhanced by this info, all the effort to get the song recorded it hasn't been heard by enough people. It should have been a hit single, something on the level of When Love Comes to Town with B.B. King.
@@MrERLoner And this version was 97 a b-side to If God Will Send His Angels for the album PoP which was released in 1997. The earlier version you refer to is Bono and Edge only. That version is a great version too but this one is the ultimate version.
Stuck in an Airport, stressed and trying to get home for my sons birthday. Watching two incredible artists, doing what they do best, melts all my troubles away… Happy B/Day Willie & my son Richard!
OH MY GOD !!! I'M HONORED JUST TO BE ABLE TO WITNESS AND HEAR THIS TOUCHING AND BEAUTIFUL SONG !!! THANK YOU ( U2 ) GOD BLESS YOU FOR HONORING AMERICA'S GREATEST HERO AND TREASURE !!! WILLIE NELSON IS ABSOLUTE PROOF OF GOD SHOWING OFF !!!
just beautiful...I can't think of anything as beautiful as U2 and willie playing together.. :).. two of my greatest musical loves..Thank you!!!..Love, love, love...
Now this is music. You "old timers" out there that think we young people under 22 don't get good music and into Lady Gag-on-it, think again! Thanks for the upload.
I've never traveled to the frontier or big sky country, the wild wild west but that mouth organ takes me right there. I am an old U2 & Willie Nelson fan. Music isn't about color for me it's about quality, voice, real-raw-talent, lyrics, Rhythm & the BEAT (the heart of the music for me.) I am a true old fan.
Oh, i just found: "In 1997, U2 had the opportunity to record it with Nelson. This version features the entire band, in addition to vocals by Nelson and harmonica by Mickey Raphael. Bono and Brian Eno provide backing vocals."
These people are usually socialists or right wingers. Most people are centre left or right and most think of him a neutral way. I don't understand hating anyone who you don't know
Marvelous... I thought of awesome and the usual, but Marvelous is solid gold baby! Great ode to WIllie Nelson by my favorite group. Both of you are long time class acts on the world stage.
This is Epic material. Willie Nelson being one of the greatest song writers who wrote his first song before he was 10 years old backed up by one of the greatest Rock and Roll bands ever !!!!!!!
you mean nice combo of assholes! egoheads! nelson always thinks he's so 'cool' he sucks ass, bono is a chatterbox who speaks for himself-what an idiot, bible says " And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." Matthew 23:12 'abased' means 'reduced to a low state, humbled, degraded' those who strut the most have the least..........
John Doe Huh... You've got some issues. It's funny to see a person with your attitude quoting the bible. How hypocritical. Willie always thinks he's so cool??? Where the hell did you come up with that? Willie is extremely down to earth, and has a huge heart for other people. Bono is pretty much the same. The problem isn't with these two guys, it's with your warped perception of them, resulting from deeply rooted psychological issues you have.
Jesus is God, he's all you need. so called psychology and psychiatry are complete and total lies from satan, the father of lies. see: psychologydebunked com cchr org cchrint org
My love is cruel as the night She steals the sun and shuts down the light All of my colors turn to blue Win or lose Scarlet eyes and a see through heart I saw her comin right from the start She picked me up but had me down on my knees Just to beggin her 'please' No I don't know why a man Search for himself in his woman's eyes No I don't know why a man Sees the truth beneath the lies My love is restless as the wind She moves like a shadow across my skin She left with my conscious And I don't want it back Just gets in the way -Slow dancing
Beautiful song, no surprise. Happy Birthday to both Bono and Willie. To "compostable": Because Adam has a history of being a pothead. In fact at one point early in their career they nearly kicked him out of the band b/c that's all he did.
