Hi Neil. Hope your ok mate. Great video. You are spot on about putting the camera away and just enjoy the view. I actually done the same thing about setting. I get home and think that shot could off been much better if I took my time and changed the settings. Nice images too mate. Take care, shawn.
Thanks mate, hope that you're doing well too - I used to have the attitude, when I started Photography where before I packed up and travelled home, I'd stop and just sit and take in where I've been... Probably need to get that attitude back a bit.
Hi Neil hope you're well. What some stunning scenery and great views. I learnt many years ago when I shot film, to always check the camera settings as you can't recover a negative in editing software like you can a digital file. Great set of images. Best wishes stay safe Jon
Yeah I can be really lazy with my Settings - Probably my biggest fault, its the ISO I find myself setting to a set number (Not even Auto), so I dont have to worry about it later... I'm always too busy trying to get everything done yesterday 👍👍
Great views, and photos Neil and great advice too. Technically you should check your settings before taking a photo at a new location or subject, I can't count the amount of times I have taken photos and used the previous settings and lost shots. My biggest one was on my meldon reservoir video I did recently, I was taking photos on a tripod when a group of horse riders and dogs came past, I took loads of photos of them only to realise later I was at a Shutter speed of 1/50 of a second which wasn't the worst photos, the dogs were slightly blurred because they were moving so fast. However I used it as a learning experience and now whenever out taking photos I still forget 🤣
To be honest I usually do double check the main settings (e.g. the Exposure Triangle) before I start shooting, its once I get going that I start forgetting to alter them 🤣 The JPG setting was definitely an annoying one, as didnt even realise that the changes I'd made in the menu had done that - It was only when I asked the question on Reddit that I realised. 🙄🤣
Hi Neil. Not sure what happened to my comment, i wrote out some stuff with a link to a hiking trouser recommendation, i think they never let it send because it had a link in it? Not sure. wondered why you hadn’t responded but realised it was my mistake after coming back on video and not being able to find my comment. Anyways. Got work this morning so no time to re find the trousers. Hope all is well.
