There's always so much to do on our scrapyard-turned-homestead in Central Portugal. But some days you just need to slow down. We spent a rainy day tinkering on the caravan and enjoying the sound of rain falling on the roof of our scrappy little awning.

Hi, we're Jazz and Nuno, an Australian-Portuguese couple converting a scrapyard into a homestead in Central Portugal. We bought the 0.7 hectare property in August 2023 and we're documenting everything from the very beginning.

hi please stop fifing around with the caravan .....its fuked not good too sleep in . only thing ok is the metal shell .use the carvan as a store keep tools etc in there . get a 4 person tent make sade cover on top .if not in sade .if you use a brush cutter .ie. strimmer wear glasses thay can just be sunglasses . and ear protect . keeep aware local fire bans . as thay can include things like strimmers. chainsaws . etc. its pretty much the dry season now so expect no real rain for 3 months . all this advice is from old nz person ten yrs here .
