You are a lucky Mom, and having said that, your family won the lottery when they received you as a Mom and wife. I just finished watching your last day at the Farmhouse on Boone house and I am in awe of what you have accomplished in short periods of time. I also finished watching your newest tour of your current home. Martha Stewart has nothing on you. I do not know how you get it all done!! You do so many things in a day it is astounding. I, for one, want to tell you how talented, kind, special and amazing you are. You inspire me and I am single!! I wonder what the heck I am doing with my day after watching you. You have created an amazing home and life. Thank you so much for sharing all you do with all of us.

That was such a sweet moment to capture of you nursing your baby and your toddler snuggling you! I had 3 kids in 2.5 years and I feel like that was my constant for so long! I wish I had more footage of it, it's such a sweet time

In Australia it's quite common to eat them with honey. A treat-variation I came up with is crumpet, honey, scoop of vanilla icecream and dust it with cinnamon. It's amazing. I do a vegan version now and it's just as delicious.

Crumpets are a favourite afternoon treat here in England where we toast them and have them with butter. The holes allow the hot melted butter to soak in and they are perfect for a cold winter afternoon with a pot of tea.

You reminded me of myself many years ago. I was just like that. Got tired of seeing the furniture in the same place. I’d change everything around. Took down pictures, put up different ones. I found when I did this I could do a good cleaning too. Now at 73 n it just being myself n the dog it’s just become my last thing to do on my list. I wish I still had that incentive to do again. This was so special watching you nurse while the other babies played and crawled on you. One thing that I noticed, while you were chopping veggies, your cutting board kept moving. If you put a folded towel underneath the board will not move. It is dangerous for the board to move while cutting. Just want you to be safe.

Your children are so blessed by you and your husband. Being together during the cold winter days; baking, cooking, refreshing your space. Here in the middle of Nebraska we have been freezing as well but fortunately will be having what we consider a "heat wave" in the next week with temperatures in the 50's!! When I have "extra" carrots... I throw them in the freezer, bag and all. I think they've been washed before packaged. When I'm ready, I don't defrost. I wash them when they're frozen hard. Because I freeze them fresh, the skins are tender so I leave the skins on. Cut to size and use them for soups or pot roast or crockpot chicken. Freezing makes the raw, whole carrots soft, so I wouldn't think they'd be good for grating after freezing. If you want grated carrots for cakes or quick breads, I'd grate then freeze. 💖🌞🌵😷

Good morning! 😊 I made rolls last night, which allowed me to make egg/bacon sandwiches for packing to go bags for the family heading to work. The loaf I made last night will be sliced, spreading (summer made)pesto on top then shredded cheese to bake for a side with dinner. Dessert was baked last night - lemon blueberry pound cake (blueberries frozen from summer harvest). We’re in a 4 day straight warm front with rain so no one wants winter soup, opting for several small meals so I am cleaning out some summer garden vegetables from the freezer. I love eating without having to go to the grocery store! ❤

One thing I do when my area rug gets tattered is rotate it. Luckily last time it happened, the tattered bit got rotated under the couch and the presitine bit that was under the couch came out of hiding to be in it's glory! 💖🌞🌵😷

We always had crumpets on Christmas morning as a special treat. Yes, butter and jam on top! The bubbles make lovely channels in the crumpets and the butter and jam soak all through.

The same front went through ou ur area. We had a huge snow and extreme cold temps fir us. We were stuck in the house for over a week.The new rug is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

I live in Canada, -10 C is a warm day here. A few weeks ago we reached -40 C with a -50 C wind chill. That was horrible, even for here. Now we have spring weather and it is melting, and +10 C outside. I would love to have your winters, ours are so harsh here.

I started watching your channel at the beginning of this year, and it has been SUCH an encouragement in my life! Being in my 50’s with married children, adult children, teenage children and grandchildren, I do not want to loose my love of homemaking and homeschooling after all these years doing both. I just made chicken and rice soup using your recipe and we all LOVED it! My boys gobbled it up. My husband said it's definitely a "make it again" type of meal. I love making soup and bread in the winter. I love that it can feed so many or become multiple lunches that I don't need to cook again.

We are not -10 but are still staying mostly inside. Today we are having rain. It feels cold enough to snow but nope, it's rain! I am going through my seeds getting ready to start some and dreaming of spring. Also doing some baking.. The oven keeps the kitchen nice and warm.

I grew up in Missouri and loved the winters and all the fun we had. 40 years ago I moved to Michigan even alot colder winters and I just love to bake and cook on these cold snow or rain even ice storms. I just made my first sour dough starter and it is ready now to use so I am in search of a really good sour dough bread recipe and tomorrow I am going to try your sour dough pancakes.

I tried doing sauerkraut with caraway seeds, salt and whey and it changed my life 😂 I will never go back to just using salt. The why jump starts the fermentation process and you use less salt. I got the recipe from nourishing traditions. I can’t wait to ferment more things this season because I’m hooked! I prefer small batches as well.

Ahhhhh, got my fix of Farmhouse on the Boone! Now I feel happy, and at peace. Gotta tell ya, just loved that toddler trying to help move that couch. He wants to be one of the pack with the boys! I love your videos and especially your beautiful bread! If you put a dry tea towel/wash rag under your wooden cutting board it will keep it from slipping when chopping. I use that trick often and works great. God bless!!❄️☃️💙

We are a crumpets everyday family (UK) we have ours with butter, marmite, honey, jam, have them with soup and melt cheese on them. I use them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are so versatile and I can’t imagine what I’d replace them with!

I appreciate how you mentioned doing a smaller batch or sauerkraut so it is not overwhelming. That has been my goal with many different aspects of homemaking, but it is something I am trying to think through as garden season comes up soon and how I am going to keep up with the garden produce. My goal is to make garden processing doable and not overwhelming. That concept of doing a bit everyday (laundry, dishes, cleaning) has been a huge game changer for me. Not always the way to go, but a lot of times it’s the difference between an overwhelming home and a well ordered home.

I liked that too! Three Rivers Homestead does an "every little bit counts" challenge in August where you preserve a little or lot of something every single day. It really makes a huge difference!!
