7000rpm isnt a problem for a driveshaft, whether steel or carbon fibre, its a uniform shape and should have no balance issues. In terms of the torque it must deal with, it actually handles less than it would have in a traditional setup. The lower gear ratios of the transmission multiply torque while reducing speed. In a traditional setup the driveshaft may see upwards of 3.5x the peak engine torque. Only in overdriving gears (ratio less than 1:1) will this driveshaft see more torque than it would in a traditional setup.
The 6.3 engine is impressive, I would rather have the 6.5 V12. I put a C43 engine in a Ford Escape. We did the swap as a joke, just to pop the hood and see peoples reaction, but I have to admit it is fun as hell to drive and now i daily drive it.
Late in replying, but I'm sure relevant still. This was meant as a high end car for boys (& girls with deep pockets) who cared more for a formula 1-esque experience. The kind that will gladly swop the whole engine for a new one if they in turn get that driving thrill. As for lower improved centre of gravity, I take it he means without a low hanging oil sump underneath the engine the whole motor can be positioned even lower than ordinary. This complex design should be out dated soon as comparing to those new electrical-powered vehicles. See Jaguar i pace which represents better car design as the new coming technology.

am i the only one who get triggered when it says "excellent handling characteristic"? as you know....typical AMG cars are always fast on a straight line and.......fun in the corner?
AMG Mercs and RS Audis are less sports cars than M Bimmers (which aren't either, except of Gems like the E46 M3 CSL). These are status symbols and cock protheses for the decadent and bored. These heavy cars seem to make sence on the Autobahn or the US market, but they are no sports cars as such. Whoever wanted a real sports car with at least a few every day capabilities would aim for a GT Porsche of some sort, depending on the wallet. Most AMG and RS and M products are unnecessarily heavy and unnecessarily overpowered and unnecessarily overpriced family sedans or pensioner coupes. Over here in Germany Mercs have always stood for older and conservative customers.
In corner, that front stabilizer it's tilted în wrong direction probably to compensate tendency to oversteer, weird rear one, this is a GT not a sport car, sport ones have lighter revy engine and planted suspension
