Holy FUCK. This is THE SONG that got me into Napalm Death and opened my eyes to a world of heavy music, and now here’s one of my favorite bands covering it and doing it AMAZING justice. Fuck. Yes. More please.
@@Darkenesis Cheers, but all good now, I was really ill with covid back in 2020; really screwed my voice, not to mention the impact it's had on our capacity to get together and write. Things are looking up a bit now though luckily.
@@towerofwankers Ah I think I'm misinterpreting this? I've been a lot better made me think that you have been better in the past? Or you mean that you have been doing a lot better? Either way take care of yourself man, all things in good time but I can't wait to see what the next slugdge album is like!
One of the best cover I've heard in my life ever. As a Slugdge Slime worshipper I've been waiting a new album from those genius people. I hope we'll get that this year.
YYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Glorious day! You have no idea how hard I've been jonsing for some new Slugdge. I've been dying over here for years.
Had post viral fatigue for quite a while, and found I couldn't really do vocals for some time but I'm finding a way. It seemingly doesn't affect some people and others hits them like a tonne of bricks; I just happened to be in the latter group. Thanks for asking!
Hi Matt. I'm a huge fan of Slugdge living here in Marina California. Strange request: I'd be stoked if you could post your cover of "21st century schizoid man" here on youtube.
So glad you’re recovered and making music again! You still working with Alan for the new album? Your programming is so good it honestly never bothered me but you can’t go wrong with Alan. How do you make it work with the distance? Any chance of an album this year?
@@towerofwankers awesome!!!! very excited to hear that!!! Music is a big part of my life and you guys are one of my all-time favorite bands, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my slime-ridden heart! Please pass it along to Moat (and now Alan!). I truly hope the industry treats you well and that you all can stay happy and fulfilled making music for many years to come!! It’s truly a wonderful gift you’re delivering to your fans 😁. Thank you all again!!!
Fuck yes bro I hope this means the recovery is going well🤘 Edit: I see this has already been asked so if you happen to read this Matt one question I've always had is how do you guys go about writing guitar/drum riffs that are so complicated? Like since the drummer changes time on some of your songs or goes into an interlude, breakdown, etc do you normally have the drummer write these parts first or just get an idea of the riff you want and weave the drums in with it later?
It isn't, but funnily enough I did record it with HM2 aswell, which you can find here. www.dropbox.com/s/tj462yxfarzhl0h/Slugdge%20-%20Twist%20the%20Knife%20%28Slowly%29%20HM2.mp3?dl=0
Uh, that’s awesome. The guitar tones aren’t THAT different to my ear but I can definitely tell which is the HM2. Makes the song sound a little more old school death.
@@towerofwankers Totally. It's a fascinating pedal/tone; I both love and hate it. I've hesitated to get one because I struggle to get good/distinct note articulation with my high-gain playing (need to improve my technique, especially consistent pick attack and making sure to mute all strings properly, standard stuff I think) and I don't think the HM-2 is going to "help" with any of that. Your stuff hits hard for so many reasons but your tone and note articulation on your last album and playthroughs is completely inspirational to me; reminds me of how far I have to go and what is achievable!
